Yes as a breeder of the same famely of dogs for nearly 30 years i have geard of Geno type and phenotype, But i stil
like a desendend dog bred douwn from a sirten importend proven stud dog of the past to be"" blessed"" with an as close as posible gene pool to that origenal dog.
Color and type selection fits in there to get what"" i "" whant.
To me its a way to ""reduce"" genetic variation and breed for that ""origenal"" dogs ""gene"" pool in ""every"" way.ore at least as close as posible.
if i let other ""type,s"" and""colors"" to be able to pop up ""espectialy when your line breeding"" Then you alouw multiple gene poos from dogs ""PRIOR"" to this dog to come ""forward"" . and thats NOT what im afther.
if i whant a Stompenato dog i whant it to rezamble him as close as posible.
and color and type fits that profile to me..
Because why do we line ore inbreed on a ""sirtin"" dog for.

Regardless of what color they may be, they came from the same sire/dam so they have the same chances of turning out.... Just cause one looks like the sire or dam, that doesnt mean that's the one that's gonna work out or the best or whatever your logic is..... If that's what works for you, then fine.... If there is a litter off two hounds im familiar with and both hounds are black and they have some buckskin and some black pups, im gonna get the pup i feel is the best using my method of selection... If you use a great dane and cros it with a irish wolfhoud , and a pup from that litter you breed to saint benard and a pup from that breeding with a molloser. these dog would still be great in size however they wil be scaterbred dogs .. Why do you think 90% of Patrick dogs com in red with red noses (Tombstone) ore boudraux dogs are black(eli byllyson) , ore gardners dogs are just as uniform red ore black (Frisco chinaman). And why do they have ROM dogs and why are they able to breed a line for 30/40 50 years with the same carasteristicks and looks????. and why have our B section famely done the same!! over a period of 30 years ""Please ecsplain"". could it be we are holding onto genetics beter then the rest can BECUASE we do the stuff we do.

SA Powerline Because Carvers sompenato had a false pedegree he was a Grenshaw bred dog bred douwn from i belive the sad sack and cotton bullid bloodlines. same as that arts missy stuff. the dogs you showed me are actualy battle croses out of heavy line bred dogs.. from diferend bloodlines.. Carvers best dogs came direckly of of Grenshaws yard who NEVER got that reconission from the larger crouwed. but here as wel those who know ""know"" anyway thats where the Black and wite stuf from carvers yard came from!!!...

 

Thanks for the info, but that doesn't explain the coloration, cause I saw OFRN and some rascal which was brown with white markings like snooty, care to elaborate on that. Then you have crenshaws rascal dog, similar breeding to that of stomp, also a black and white dog, Mr.Limey, not arguing would just like some more info so i can also gain some wisdom.
