I built a really nice springpole set up for my 3y/o adopted bitch.
She doesnt seem interested in it at all. she will chase and hold on to anything that moves.
Loves the filrt pole work outs. Has a high prey drive and doesnt tire out easy.
Im not looking for hang time or anything spectacular. just a good workout.
I have the rope toy only about 2 feet off the ground. If I take the rope off the spring and hold it, she will tug o war all day. Any suggestions on what I can do to interest her?

stand there and hold onto it while it's on the pole, so that way she thinks she's tugging with you, but she's really tugging on the spring.

some just dont like the sound of the spring above them. it freaks them out. mine is just like that he will just look at the thing. i wouldnt let that concern you though it doesnt mean anything at all. it doesnt make the dog less of a dog becasue of that. if you want try something else try this http://www.obriensk9supply.com/store/index.php?target=products&product_id=1798
its a power cord instead of spring. ive been debating on getting this for myself maybe sometime soon.

hold it in ur hand and just play with it like tis a toy, once she starts to really enjoy in follow eljaybee's advice and then hopefully she'll take to it

Use Cowhide instead of rope and watch the difference.

wet the hide it will smell the . soak it little , then let them chew . then take it and put it on your spring pole . but i would have it where when the dog pulls on it all 4 feet are on the ground . you will have to watch them more but they're safer like that .

would you not agree that any dog working it"self should be watched keenly ,at all times ?

Thanks for all the advice. I'll try it all.
If I still cant get her on it at least I'll have the worlds strongest bird feeder pole.
