i live in the country and i have coyotes all around ,I have never saw one in my yard,i have heard them real close but never saw one in the yard. But anything can happen. We dont have real rough winters so no snow..this may have something to do with it.

I have heard, but I don't really know, that when it comes to dogs, coyotes try to lure them away and then as a group, pounce on them. That would be impossible for restrained dogs. Plus since you have a number of dogs, I would imagine the coyotes would see it as a big pack. Do your dogs bark loud? I would guess that might be intimidating. I would definitely make sure they are all up on rabies shots. Since coyotes are pretty much everywhere in the US, and since so many people have APBTs in rural areas, if it were a problem, you think we would have heard about it.

you could talk to the people in the area and see if they have had problems in the past.

Hunting yote's with a bulldog is my specialty ;) (yes they will corn hole your dog and disembowel (spelling?) him if you let him get jumped by a band of 15 or more for sure.. Coyotes pack up in 3-5 often and sometimes 8-10 anything 15-20 is a band.. because they normally act like jackals which they are genetically parallel with.

35lbs female and a 54 almost 55lbs male-a product of Turk~ 37lbs .. A Traditional Bulldog hes a product of 10yrs of selective breeding working ADBA dogs pulling out the original long legged bulldog. Even though his dam was 4x Hooch who was sired by an early tant dog to bellymate of Bs Herc Joe Jr, I used Hooch exclusively into full cousins half sisters and aunts all Bs Herc Joe Jr. and Hicks Yoda bred which means there is some whopper in there I even used a dog I produced that had a full 25% shot of whopper and was only 35lbs. You can see that Turk looks like a minature dogue de bordeaux which he should as the original long legged bulldog was a product from the fighting dog of gaul. I dislose this bit of information to discourage anyone from asking me to breed to Turk, he's my private stud dog and only handwritten pedigrees from him as I followed sound advice by well renowned people and quit registering them with the ADBA and kept private pedigrees up to him and for any proven hunting bulldog I breed him to for that breeding; in such events hunting bulldog pups are available. So leave it at that please don't ask.

I've hunted coyotes with dogs since 2003 and let my dogs defend ranches and acreage both private and commercial from coyotes and feral dogs. I've had pups from my Hooch dog go put in predator control work in Kansas, Texas, Louisanna, Arkansas and through out green country Oklahoma. I had a pup from Hooch grow into a dog that had over 100 coyotes under his belt when a band of 20 or so took him out. They found him trying to get to a wounded coyote draggin his inerds behind him, there were supposedly 15-20 dead or dying coyotes around him when the owner and neighboring ranchers found him, some where around Plano Tx. I always advised if your letting your dog go on a band of yotes like that you need to put duct tape over the dogs butt to keep him from getting got.
