I thought he was going into A show ..I think it just needs to ' look good' not roll , he has a great looking dog but it has been over fed or not excercised enough..I'm a pretty physical person so I really watch my dogs diet year round . I've only done one show, but it was adba and they want a tight dog even in the puppy class ...

i've got hundreds of ribbons in boxes in my basement and more trophies than i have space to store them. all i do if i'm showing a dog is take them off the chain, maybe hose them off if they are dusty. it ain't rocket science, there are no 'secrets'.

Ive been to more that one, and a judge and I were talking about puppy weight just a couple of days ago...the closer your dog gets to adult classes the tighter it needs to be, but having a puppy to "tight" will acculy cost you points, let a pup be a pup....once it hits 12 months step ot it a little, 16a little more and so in...its puppy fat... Dont work it off.... Now, if its a big fatty, you need to cut back either way for the dogs health... Like someone else said, ive watch boogies dogs show for 5 years or so and ive took his advice... Now I show right next to him... if he gives you advice you would be retarded not to take it ( even if hes telling you to go flush your turds) lol

I'm good with his advise he has some great lookin dogs ..pickle juice is to trim up it's a cutting agent we used in wrestling...I don't want anyone to think I meant to place the dog on a hard diet..I've learned just alittle 1/8-1/4 cup less food a day will show after a week and I'm the first to say I'm sure not a show guy so Boogie would know more than me on that for sure ,and I agree when he said work the dog alittle more (I think that was him )..

  6. This show the o.p. is talking about is only a fun show it means nothing ,i was at it last year and tbh its a joke fat neutered dogs and 70 pounders got placed last year !. the majority of dogs in the club that are running it are crosses or are of unknown breeding !

That's true, good dogs didn't get placed on those days and much worse ones were ahead of them...

But my pup is a Staff, and it's only a bit of fun ;)

    Here's the pup yesterday-

This is true, its extreamly obvious when someone cuts food instead of working a dog....like night and day. I actully end up upping food before shows because
The harder you work, the more gas he needs.... Its all trial and error, what works for my dog wont work for boogiemans.... Ive had alot of luck hand walking in the final Weeks.... Ease them into it get them into shape slowly, if your dog is a little off for this one its ok, itll be good for the next[/QUOTE]

    Very well put Pit Fallin.
