  1. I have 4 game dogs.1 is a puppy. Im about to get hear ears cropped. The other female i have is about 4 years and her ears arent croped. She has chronic ear mites all the time. I may be wrong but I think it is due to the size of the ears. I live in Alabama and it is humid and damp/ I think the ear size keeps them from breathing. None of my other ones have this problem. Could you crop a dogs ears at this age? Any help is greatly appreciated. I just started her on the 7 day aggressive ivomec treatment. Thank you

It is uncommon for adult dogs to have ear mites. Take your dog to the vet and get the ears swabbed. Betcha she has a chronic yeast or bacterial infection.

Cropping won't help the problem. Chronic ear infections usually have allergies as the underlying cause and nothing except managing the allergies will reduce the chance of future infections.
