Guy I work with found a baby pygmy rattler. Gna "show" the kids who found it how to handle a snake.lol. Didnt know what it was at the time and decided to grab it left handed alltho hes a righty, WITHOUT his seeing glasses. Put him in ICU for 3 days. Snake only nicked him too. Looked like a paper cut when he finally gt bck to work. Its the babies u gta watch for. They dnt know how much venom to give when they bite. He wasnt 100% for bout 2 wks.

we have timber rattlers around these parts, but luckily im yet to run into one. (that i was aware of anyway)
imo a .410 pistol on your hip is the best medicine for them nasty critters, so i NEVER go on a "walkabout" thru the countryside without a pistol/revolver. id rather dispatch of one myself than letting my crazy dogs give it a try.

why not just steer clear and let it go about it biz.I can understand killing them around the house. But not while hiking leave it be and it will more then likely do the same for you.

well...i said im YET to run into one when hiking, but if i happened to stumble upon one and it was too close, i would dust it. my dogs wouldnt leave it be so itd be bye-bye snake. and fyi, i carry the pistol for the other critters im more likely to run into.

I always have three or four dogs every yr get bite by copperheads, I just give them some benedril once I see they have been bite and they are fine in a couple of days. I always find the snake dead in their chain spots. This is the last one I had this yr get bite by a copperhead.

Yeah he's ok. Slowed him down a little at first. But like SlaughterHouse said in a couple of days the swelling starts going down and they're fine. Did loose a 4 week old pup close to 30 years ago though. Good looking dog SH.

My hounds are mastering the art of killing copperheads without getting bit. Jus as long as the snake doesn't manage to get under their house b4 they kill em

Best thing find you some king snakes somewhere and turn them loose in your yard..I got a few around here..They are amune to venom and all they do is hunt and eat poisonous snakes.Scare the shit out of you once in a while but they work.knock on wood I have only came across 1 poisonous snake in my yard in the last 10 yrs..And I live in the heart of posionous snake country.

I will kill a rattle snake every time I see one. If it ain't me it'll be someone else so fuck that. The baby snakes are the worst because they have no venom control and they will bite multiple times as opposed to adults. Also, adult rattlers shoot blanks 25% of the time.

Where u find ur king snakes. U catch em ur self or what. Cuz I've thought of that. Jus hadn't found anyone runnin kingsnakes.lol hell id breed em if I could lol

lol yeah you catch them man..Thier diff color ones mine are black with yellow stripes.Thier are some red and yellows to and I think the old sayin is red meets yellow friend of a fellow..Red meets black stay back ..lol but u better look into it I am goin off memory on that..Thats why i like the black with the yellow stripes cause I know exactly what it is.But i just keep my eyes open man and if I find one I will catch it if i can and bring it home..Now dont get me wrong even though they not poisonous i still hate to handle them..I cant stand snakes. But they will fuck a rattlesnake up and eat him and any other poisonous snake.

Yeah the ones where I am ar black with green specks. But I haven't been seein them to catchem and there aren't many around obviously cuz my dogs kill poisinous snakes all snake season they're mongoose! Took some bites their first couple of times but either they're gettin immune to the copper heads .. but I think theve .jus figured em out they love to have one in there chain length for sure. I got a gip likes to hide em so I can't find em ijus don't want my dogs gettin sick from eatin em while they're decomposin n shit
