Can we say that they are all ahead of their classes! And only one showing to have taken the mini bus! B.u.t what he lacks in smarts he makes up for with heart! Now let's give the people a clear eye as to why A,K asked what would you breed to first! Ok since 2012 when this thread was first started it was to spark a conversation about what most believed in! Since then the cold dog mentioned have added a Ch,and a 1timer (1:40) a 1x draw( 2:40)and the scattered bred has kept on his job becoming a 7xer! both are showing that either way A,K would have went it would have been nice! Reason being is when you're stock is coming directly from performing stock the risk runs a fine line the grch has the upper hand only because we know what he's bring to dinner as with the cold male we could on speculate by his game litter mates and game parents! And as far as any grch being a freak is false what it is is that most become happy with an average championship and are afraid of stepping in to the unknown world of elite and being cast as a true great! most freaks that have won multiple times in short order are FREAKS and once pushed into the world of unknown that's were most end up as a unknown freak! From what I haveseen most that look for a name in a pedigree are only doing so for two reasons #1 should be to cap on that particular animal and the traits he or she is known to throw! And the most upsetting reasons I have seen is to peddle some shit with the sales pitch of ''He or she is 100 times so and so in only four generations! Tell you this A,K knew what it was long before that lil game bitch finished on the dean's list and came into heat his breeding plans are light years ahead and at time I don't understand why until I see his family report cards! :-) peace

    Both come from great backgrounds!
Cold dog is off two champs who is off two champs/Rom and is out of a litter that thru multiple champion's and winner's!
scattered bred grch comes out of a litter were every one of them have won and just between the sire and this one litter it's 12-14 wins and his litter mates have all thrown multiple winner's! And why go outside the yard when what you have is what you need??

Why breed to the cold one and not the proven littermates? I'd go to the littermates because I wouldn't want whatever is making him not interested being passed on.

That is very true b.u.t when the proven litter mates are still being campaigned then sold overseas or picked up and put down the opposition becomes very slim! Lol
B.u.t just because a hound is cold doesn't mean that it won't produce,as we were shown with the said cold male! Just thinking about every single dog in your dogs pedigree can you tell me 100%that every dog in there were match quality? Or can you tell me that everyone of them were not cold or a cur? It a know fact that many of curs that quit more then once have went on to be top studs! Lol For you Snooty blood lovers, he quit more then a few times! we all know the storyline of Bullyson, even the great Alligator dog was based of a know cur whom was bred only because of his Blood was some of the last! Now I say that to say if know curs can be bred knowingly why can't a cold male be bred and giving the chance to throw?

Best 2 best, you make many valid points. But why breed to a cold dog when there are so many other options?

Did your friend have a feeling about the dog?

I know of a dog that was cold but had a great ped. with many really good siblings. He was bred many times and produced many good ones. However later when they started line breeding off him a lot of cold dogs started popping up.

Not saying it will happen to your friend but it's something for you guys to think about.

My bulldogs couldn't read their pedigrees, so they didn't matter. I would breed what is proven, tested, and works out best in the situation, and not dwell on pedigrees. Some good dogs come from a odd breeding/crap shoot. I'd rather OWN a good, proven, dog than buy a pretty paper pedigree. Don't take that the wrong way. Just put the papers down and evaluate what is in front of you in the flesh.
