Skull dogs? Anyone having success with this line?

If I had to have Eli dogs it would be through Maverick/Boss via The Aries stuff or Tightline stuff which is Maverick x Boss with a twist of the good Morgan stuff.. Or have a mixture of it thru Hardtimes stuff but those dogs aren't for Rookies. Not knocking Skull at all seen some and some were good some were ok some were bad just like every other strain of bulldog..

 

tightline stuff is the most hit or miss unfortunately. peddled by a dogfan.

 

Depending on who you get your Tightline stuff from, yes the man that peddles or peddled it has thrown out a lot of hit or miss but he isn't only man with it..

 

I don't know who's running it now but the man himself, Tightline peddled those dogs. He seemed to breed every sort of hunting dog he could make a buck off of.

some good dogs came from that program he was running but a lotta junk did too.

Honestly if i were into tight eli dogs thats probably the way id want the pedigree to look like nice bred dog you got there lol i like those ears lol!!!!

 

I love wat i just got. and he has skull up close. 3rd generation. Eli/Boudreaux Line is definitely suited for the experienced dm because they are notorious for being firey before they are really ready to hunt . Patience and a good blend of the strains is what has been working for me . If you let them mature out and don't let them fool you into taking them to hunt before their time your %'s will be alot higher .

 

This example may very well be the case with the animal in question. His owner decided to hang on to him...we'll see how things work out for him.

the best way to get ur eli dogs is through the way floyd and clemmons and elliot bred them. they mixed up all the eli lines not breeding to tight on any one dog. of course there were the tight ones but the best ones were a mix of rascal, sixbits, or sixbits maverick or sixbits, maverick, niggerino. personally i like it through the two eyes maverick dogs. and floyd also added those pistol pete dogs inthere through duhons blood. these are what u should look for all the eli families mixed together.

Now I have seen some good maverick dogs but like LWG say I'd rather a 1/10 than a 1/50 if you look at the time and preparation you have to put in. Its not worth the wait unless you are buying a yearling or one with a title already.

 

Me myself I have just tried the Kemmer's Macho and the Gr Ch Roadblock Joey blood cross that are high on the eli traits. And these dogs don't play with ya.

 

I agree with boze 100% it dont get any better than a good line bred eli dog. nigerino chinaman midnight cowboy blood all in one dog= hard to handle!!!
