Need some advise. I am going down to Tg's to pick up a dog. The one I've been shown is off of Santos. He's a fawn male and looks like a nice dog. Now what I'm looking for in a dog is to be confident, athletic and friendly toward people. I have three boys and we liked to play with a spring pole, rope ect with my other dog. While I'm pretty sure the dog I'm looking for is the one I've been discussing with TG, he said I can also pick if I see something else that catches my eye. What should I be looking for in a 8-9 week old pup? Not that I don't trust what he says, just wanted other opinions. Thanks in advanced for replies

go pick one that you like and be happy that you got a well bred pup from a proven kennel and family of dogs - I would get one off the dynomite X miss otto breeding if it were me. good luck, j

Many of those who have good things to say about TG dogs swear by Dynomite dogs. I personally would like to try out an earl doginbred dog with one of those outs he was selling a few months to a year ago.

Some of the reviews you might get on TG here may be completely negative, so much so that you may even begin to doubt yourslef if your self confidence is not rock solid, but as one member stated here for some reason TG has remained relevant breeding bulldogs.

Yeah ive read some of these negative posts.Im not gonna judge from the internet. I was just asking generally at the tender age of 8 to 9 weeks, are there any signs to look for in a confident dog? Btw the current litters in that age group are
    "Santos-Asesina"
    "Dynamo-Miss Genghis"
    "Sluggo-MJ"
    Anyone familiar with these dogs?

I would go with one of the Dynomite breedings... Did you say you want the dog to get along with your other dog? You also need to plan to keep them separated when not supervised and don't be surprised if they can't be around each other.. Enjoy your pup...

Im really looking for a dog that I can simply have fun with that can jump and be athletic and such.Doesnt have to be the baddest ..just confident .Im sure talking to Tom and looking while im up there, i'll figure it out.He actually said the Santos dog could be a little more prey driven than the Dynamo litter. I guess the bitch could have something to do with it too. The tug of war video with Santos is pretty impressive. Thats all I want is a little bit of that no quit drive.

The breeding I mentioned is listed on his website so I am quite sure they will be there. The reason I picked that breeding is because you have some of the best of the frisco up close, and anything frisco / lee ling is gonna be serious.
Babedulce, I only mentioned the breeding off dynomite cause in my opinion, that is the best breeding he has right now. If he had semen off rebel yell or harpo, I would have mentioned that. I have owned frisco stock, and know first hand how it is. What frisco dogs have you owned?

I own no tg dogs and the "some swear by dynomite" comment is more of a generalized statement based on my reading posts in this forum from some of the members thatmore or less post on a consistent basis. I hadnt even noticed your post to be honest. Of course there are many camps with different preferences for the various bloodlines tg runs but
I have read more positive reviews for dynomite dogs than negative.

id personally go with the crocodile breeding he has......that...or,..the santos x countess breeding, thats just me though....it really depends on what traits you like to tell the difference in the breedings you should choose from. if your looking for "drive" generally speaking then hell just flip a coin cuz they ALL have "drive"......different strokes for different folks....i will tell you this, however many people you ask....thats how many different answers your gonna get!....good luck...

I have a dog off Santos and Sangria. He's about a year and a half probably 65 lbs now. He's a house dog and my only one. Prey drive is high he will chase a ball or the flirt pole or tug, swim or hike all day. Crate training is a must if you plan to keep the dog inside. I would not trust him with another dog if that's not obvious. He needs an hour of walks minimum a day. I'm happy w the dog but he is a handful at this age. I think you'll get similar results from all those breedings. Tom had answers for all my questions when I was shopping his yard. PM me tomorrow if you have other questions.

I think any dog you get from him will be athletic enough to play tug and fetch. Just find a dog that isn't timid or scared of you and is playful. For what you want just stay away from dogs down from el negro and dogs like that
