anyone have, has or had any working dog that lived in the house or does home life take away too so dog wont reach full potential

If it were possible any dog should benefit from being a house/companion dog. Should make the dog a lot smarter with a lot more stimulation than sitting on a chain all day. When breeding working dogs it's just not possible to have 20 house dogs.

House dogs are just like any other dog, inside or outside. I notice more physical differences in the dogs than any mental/psychological differences. Dogs are healthier living outside but house dogs tend to show more willingness to please because of the level of bonding a house dog gets. Outside dogs build a thicker hide and tend to have stronger immune systems than house dogs, aside from that, no other differences that I've noticed. JMO

    Ch Justice was a housedog.
Seen many dogs chain-raised come off the chain to hunt, or go to shows were hunters brought there young prospects out to another unfamiliar location and the dogs were all shy and timid of there surroundings. Never taken off the chain enough to be socialized properly as they were growing up is a disadvantage chain-raised dogs have over housedogs.
I prefer to have all dogs out on chains myself and alternate bring them in the house.

I was told by Joanie the Rat Terriers would get him in trouble once in a while ..They would get him fired up on another dog.

Most of our dogs are house trained. Everyday It's a new dog or pups turn to be in the house for a full day and night, getting special attention and valuable bonding time. The only one's that we don't let in the house are the alpha male pissers but they do get some off the leash time in the back woods.

I usually let pups come in the house to get socialized and play with my kids. Got a walker coon hound i let sleep in my back laundry room because if i keep him chained outside he'll bark all day and night non stop.
