Cat Breeds

If you have or were to get a cat, what breed would you get, or would you get a mix, or maybe whatever showed up at your door? I have only had common house cats before, and they were fun to have.

I wouldn't get one until I had a way to keep it safe from my dogs and coyotes.

But I think Egyptian Maus look cool, as do Oriental Shorthairs and American Shorthairs. The long hair breeds don't especially appeal to me, although Maine Coons are supposed to be good cats.

 

Wifey has been wanting a cat. Having been looking at savannah, jungle,Bengal, American short hair cats. Can't believe some of the asking prices for these designer cats!

 

My sis had a maine coon he was a beast of a cat.he was a stud but they fixed him and got rid of him because he started to go after other cats .thats how my sister got him.i forgot how impressive he was untell i seen him again damn that was a be mofo he didn't have claws he had knives lol. Not a cat person but i think if i where to get a cat it would be a maine coon.

 

I would get an Egyptian Mau no question about it.

Have you had some experience with them?

 

I would guess that requires a permit of some kind. I went through a phase of looking at all kinds of wild animals - badgers, ravens, etc., but it started to seem like quite a hassle.

 

I don't really care about breeds in cats much. Mutt cats are just fine with me.

Pure breeds, I really want a Sphynx cat. They're really neat but it won't be for a long time. I have four cats now and that's too many for me. Maine Coons are awesome too and Siamese.

 

Me too,all I've ever had was just ordinary cats.If they catch mice and rats I'm happy,don't care about the breed.

 

Same here Gh32 and they also have to stay out from under my feet and off my vehicles.

outta curiosity i googled some of these exotic "breeds" of cat yall have mentioned and HOLY SHIT they are expensive!

 

My parents have one. It's a pretty cool cat but she is weary around people except my parents. My parents live in the sticks so they can let it out to hunt and chase birds and squirrels.
