    Hello guys!

I decided to start a new thread to ask about the ears of Junior A.K.A. Simba cuz the vet just cropped em and one ear is too much folded down.

I read about posting or taping ears but I just want to clarify if it's posible in my case because Juniors right ear sometimes look reaaaally folded down. Actually it looks like there is a fold that force it to go down. Does this ear have fix or I'm screwed?

I also read about some kind of very careful posting while healing but I want to ask first if it's ok to do that or I will need to wait until it heals to begin the posting with the vet?

    Here I'll leave some pics.

P.D. Sorry if a wrote bad, my english is poor cuz I'm from México and it's not my first language.

when I had my pincher ears done when I had him when they i would use some hospital tape and rap it around the ears loosely to keep them up until they would stand on their own. hope this helps

take a pencil break it to the right length then tape ear using a pencil with a cotton ball on the so it doesnt hurt the inside of his ear and tape like acording to the pencil using the pencil as a brace

your vet should of had a brace to help prop them up. and something preventing the dog from scratching them. i think your "screwed" though. i don't think i'd use a pencil im my dogs ears.

hack job, no pride in their work, no excuse for this turnout, and coupled with the owner,s inexperience...well the results are visible

I would wait till the stitches are out then tape them, it can take a long time to get them to stand but they should, I think for danes it can take years if I remember correctly

Wait til the stitches are taking out.Tape from the bottom cartilage(the base of the ear up) with or with out brace, not to loose... Leave on for about 10-14 days...
You should be fine the hair will grow back...lol Don't worry the ear will stand right in time...Pm me if need be...

a pencil is fine or pull apart a plactic tampon and use the hollow end as a brace but the pencil is easier

Ears require extensive taping, it doesn't stand on it's own. Judging by the crop it's show crop and might even be longer 4-6 weeks. Get some tampons and some surgical tape and tape them up. You can also get a cone from the vet that sort of goes on top of her head like a hat and you shave the tip of the ears then tape them from each side. This way the cone will stay on top of her head. They will try to get them off as the ear heal and scabs will form because it itches so you have to be on the ball and put it back on asap.

Does everyone reccommend taping the ears individually and letting them stand for all typez of crops? Or is that just the method for long show crops. I have a dog with cropped ears that were laid flat against his skull with tape covering the ears and going around under his chin. That worked great for me his ears stand perfectlly how i wanted them with that taping method.

shut the fuck up. you aint feeding his dog so it aint your business.

  18. Well i may not be feedign his dogs ,but what i said still stands , ear cropping is not good for the dog, it may make an owner feel good about his hardcore looking dog , but thats more for the owners ego than the dogs well being. Now as your a moderator the fact that you think its ok to tell me to shut the fuck up ,real nice you must be one of the more inteligent ones lol, why dont you ban yourself , seems like you guys do it to the rest of us all the time jsut for having an opinion, and the usa supposed to be the land of the free yea right .

It aint no democracy here fella.... nothing wrong with one who perfers a cropped ear over a natural and it doesnt create some magical heath issue either other than.the dogs inner ear will get dirtier faster. Its a matter of personal preference. Nothing more.

And waiting to tape the ear isnt going to help it much. Tape it now while the ear is still healing. If the ear heals half pricked it will stay that way, it wont one day just decide to stand up on its own.
