If the male didn't use protection, then most likely she is.

    rocksteady I'll drink to that..

swelling teats do not necassarily imply a female is pregnant.. lots of times they swell after a heat due to hormones, false preg...

only way to tell for sure is to take her to a vet and have them peform ultra sound or similar tests

the male doesnt even have to tie with female for her to become preg.
    lol..u guys crack me up...

Home pregnancy tests work on dogs if you can collect pee. Almost all animals carry hcg hormones of some type. So have her pee on a stick : )

Hello. I was kind of short yesterday. Im pretty new with my pit. Her name is smoke. she is blue and about 85 pd. She is 4 yrs old and this is the first time I have tried to breed her. So i am a little nervious. I hope they were succesful. The male was white with a brown spot over his eye. How lucky will I be in getting more blue? [IMG]

Why are you breeding her?? Is it just to get more blue dogs?? Are you breeding to just have puppies or are you trying to better the breed?? Has you dog proved that she is worth breeding?? What do you plan on doing with the pups?? You should ask yourself these and many more questions before you even think about breeding!!

I am real picky when it comes to breeding or buying puppies. If I am going to breed something I have, It would have to be one of the best, and the male would have to be just as equal, and this would be any breed of dog that I have. There is to much bad breeding out there now.

I don't even know where to begin. Please, don't take it personally. First off, these dogs are not supposed to be 85 lbs. Your dog is not purebred. Don't feel bad. Unfortunately, people are under the impression that pit bulls are supposed to be big and blue. This could not be further from the truth. Second, you seem to be breeding for the wrong reasons. You should never breed for anything outside of working ablility (this includes temperment). You should never breed for color, size, and so on. When you start breeding for looks or for any other off-the-wall reason, you create a risk of producing dogs that may be unstable. It is also very expensive and difficult to provide the pups with good homes. You have to give the dogs the necessary shots, checkups and be ready for the infinite amount of things that may go wrong. Then, on top of that, you have to actually find good responsible owners. I am sure that you don't want the pups going to abusive or neglecting people and there are alot of them out there. You have just put yourself in a difficult situation. Fortunately, there are plenty of people here that can help. Please do not breed this dog again. Get her fixed. Shelters are slap full of pit bulls and puppies just like yours. They are there because of irresponsible breedings and they are getting put to sleep by the thousands every day as a result.
