Bitch ate all but 1 pup...

lol...I think she was cause I was like dam!!!! she still have more in her then I realize she ate the pups LMAO....

 

not sure if that's a good solution.
they can hurt even with a muzzle if they feel they need to, and will probably even manage to take it off if left alone with it especially if the dog isn't used to wearing muzzles.

the best idea would probably be to find a second bitch capable of raising those pups instead of letting her raise her pups.
but you would need to be there right when she births to take away every single pup before it's too late.

it's a lot of trouble for a litter.
I wouldn't do it except if the bitch was really, really exceptional.

I was responding to N-da-ring's comment and breeding the bitch a second time lol

which to me would be to much of a hassle if she were to act the same so I wouldn't do it again except if she was a really great asset in my breeding program (not that I breed dogs)

so muzzled yes, but supervised only while with the pup
leaving the pup unsupervised with her muzzled is not a good idea.

 

An old dogman told me to add salt to the bitches food or in her mouth when she first has her pups. It will decrease the urge to eat her pups. It really works!

I do love hand raising 'em. Only when I have to though cause it is a lot of work and worry.

 

Happened to me they say when they eat pups they have a low blood count give them raw liver and she wont eat them worked for me
