  3. That guy is an idiot. How old was this pup to be running on a slat mill? I didnt start my dog on a slat mill until she was 7month.

The dog was 15 months old so fuck you Blackjack90. Triple J is not telling the truth about that and I thought it was a dead issue, but since it isn't I'll give the short version as to what happened. First off, the meth head paid ZERO shipping for my mill. The shipper had me drive 6 hours total to meet him because he was just as shady as triple J. He also gave me part of Dream Pits order which I delivered to him because he paid for my mill to be shipped and we had that arrangement made and had nothing to do with triple J. The mill was junk, and my 15 month dog was on the mill and stepped through the shitty wood that triple J used on the slats. I called J and told him what happened and he told me that he left the lumber outdoors in the rain and that it had happened to someone else and that he would build me one that week and send it on his dime since it was his fuck up. It took 3 weeks. He told Dream Pits and myself that we would both get a free mill for waiting so long and we never got that and I am cool with that, but it's funny that he is talking about making shit for free but NOBODY asked him for anything free he said he would do it. Dream Pits still hasn't gotten the rest of the stuff he paid in full for so that's stealing if you ask me. The mill was never purchased for a puppy, I had adult dogs and one 15 month pup that was 41 pounds at the time he stepped through a slat. If I ever see J in person, I will beat the meth out of his punk ass system and that's the facts jack.

I am just curious how old does a pup have to be before one puts him on a slat mill?

I agree. Just to let them get use to it. If they start walking on it cool. Even if they sit there that's cool also

  8. Start them out around 7-8month for beginner 5-10min and a good long walk after. Work for food!

Why does a pup have to be 7-8 months old to start on a mill?

and why are you using food to make it work?

  10. Too early could be bad for their joints. They're puppy let them be a puppy. Long walk is good enough for pup. You feed them after works is put in. You can expect too much out of them. They eventually will grow onto you to understand what you want out of them. Idk how long do you look at your dog to know your very own dog. You and your dog got to communicate. Hustle! Hustle!

I said I would do a follow up so here it is.  I contacted Alan back in mid. October about obtaining a mill and put a $600 deposit down on it a week later that month.  I was told it would be ready mid. December and I didn’t hear from him till January 8th that he was running late due to the holidays and that I would have my mill within a week.   About 6 weeks went by and I told him that I’m still waiting on the mill and haven’t heard from him.  I also told him that I would like to take the mill if ready but only via COD or wanted a refund on my deposit.  He said the mill was just about ready and he could refund but would not send it via COD.  At this point I got skeptical, I could either A) send the money and get burned for another $800, B) possibly get a refund, C) get the mill “whenever” it was ready.  I have no idea why he would not want to send COD after all it was over 2 months past due and wasn’t willing to work with his buyer that now had doubts.  I decided to cut my losses and requested a refund.  He sent me the refund later that day.  He was very apologetic and said he had taken on more than he could handle but I still don’t understand why he would not send COD, after all I wanted the mill.  Being late is one thing but at least keep people in the know, they will almost always understand but if you don’t communicate and not willing to work the shipping that’s a big red flag for me personally.  I wish I would have had the mill instead but I wasn’t sure if the guy was taking me for a ride or not and if he wanted to make the sale he would have shipped COD.  Maybe he didn’t care because there were plenty of others wanting his mill and it was more convenient not to, who knows.. moving on.  I am in touch with another person about mills and I’ll have to see how that will turn out.

Thanks for the update ursa, hope all goes well with the next one. I do wonder why he wouldn't ship COD, it's not like it would get delivered w/o collecting payment, that is weird.

Ya'll need to stop penny pinching and take a few more months to save and get a Dogtrotter! Better built mill and G knows how to ship the mills properly wrapped and with the right transport company. Got 3 mills from him over the years, even had one get damaged during transport and he replaced it with no problems. Great service and quality.
