Are you looking for bulldogs or you looking for sheperds for Schutz or Protection training??

My grandmom banged pots every saturday morning at 5 for us to get up and clean and we cringed and ran under the blankets and pillows every time even though we lived through that for years lol.

So I chose #1.. I sold #2 5 days ago and it was a huge mistake. I should have kept them just another week. Although the male I kept is an awesome looking dog he is exactly what you would call the show off. He was always the crybaby and should have saw this as a warning sign. Today while him and momma were playing around and he was making all this darn noise sounding serious but wasnt down with anything. Mean while my female pup comes out of nowhere and attacks mom for what felt like 30 minutes without stopping or making all the ruckus. Although he doesn't coward, I guess im hoping I can slowly build his confidence enough where where he wont be a bi**h in the woods. Shoulda coulda woulda wont make that mistake again next litter when I breed my female pup to a jeep rascal male a friend has. By that time I will have more land and will keep them much longer if not keep them all. Live and learn. Thanks for all the advice!

What were you doing while the female was "attacking" the mom for like 30 minutes.

Well ok I was gonna be nice.... But if that little pup "attacked" its dam for 30 mins... It don't matter what pup you kept cuz you know for sure the dam wasn't worth shit....... Maybe???

    Sincerely Yours, Cajun

Its a pup and there is no sign of a sure thing. Don't ruin the dogs trying to protect your ego, let them grow up before checking.

It was just a name I just came up with to join this forum, dont read into things so seriously. Your right opinions are like as*hole* everyone has one. I already told you what I was trying to acheive, and that was a dog I could have around the family and also take in the woods on my days off. Either way I believe I will be fine with what I chose even though I believe the other male was better. What I meant by attacking (which yes were wrong words to use) was rough housing, practice makes perfect, my dam has control and i can run, mess with the spring pole, tug of war, or anything I want and still bring her around my kids ( they dressed her up yesterday), then on the weekend's send her in the woods and she will go wide open. Just like boxing with dad as a kid you have to learn self control. Sparing so you know what to do and makes great exercise. I was watching my dogs as I were doing this, its not like my dam was giving her all, like I said she has self control, better than anything I've ever seen! As far as my ego goes, ive served my country, trained martial arts as far as I could remember, and I am not anything you think I am.

Thanks for your service to our country! Good luck with the one you chose, remember though, the peanut butter test would have helped you make your decision without the doubts afterwards. lol

I've said before but I'll be happy to say it again, that all one can have in a very young pup is health, a pert enough awareness, and not be built in some dysfunctional way. In other words....normal and healthy and not disfigured.

If you are doing this, this and that hoaky shit to see grown possibilities in a little puppy, you are either practicing voodoo or panning for fools gold. Grown traits are not there nor are they readable in a puppy. PERIOD!!

TDK this is very true.. hormones play a big role in living things. Just like i have a friend of mine, his kid even though he was in juijitsu classes for years he never had the bravery or the drive to be in the top of his age class. Then as soon as puberty struck he is dominating like never before, and it seemed like all he learned from all the years just clicked.. same thing could be possible with a dog or any other living thing.

jd, it's called Maturation for a reason. Absolutely, not only possible, but the ONLY realistic approach one can take. Just physiological fact. But some folks are confused by those things.................FACTS, I mean.

....some say the bitchs mature quicker than males...but there still jus pups,,they should be both fine, when they age enough to run in the woods...g-luck.......

Hormones are great for being competitive, even necessary. In every sport.
