peddler?

How many did can you sell before you are a peddler?

 

All about what you're putting out there, how you're representing it, and your intentions. But you can't be putting multiple litters on the ground, all for sale, year round and claim you're not a peddler. Game dogs and curs can be peddled alike.

 

lol...lol...lol....YEP a peddlar,jus breed's anything for sales,,there is only one direction in his breeding and that's "money"...nothing else(feed/shelter/welfare) matters...jus...MONEY........

somebody that put dogs down from others ...because he wants to sel his own dogs

 

yeah i feel like as long as your not in it for the money your ok. like myself i havent had a litter in 3 yrs i have two dogs now i cant wait to hook up but i dont have no room on my yard and when i do breed im keepin two males wish i could keep a whole litter but i dont have the space or the money but i will try and let other folks that i know get the others if i can that way at least i know there in good responsible hands. i will sell to a stranger as long as they know somebody i know that can vouch that there good people. i feel responsible for the pups i raise cuz i had a hand in there creation and that means something too me.

 

No official number,dog selling is dog peddling IMHO,just make sure what you peddle is good and I have no problem with it. Produce good dogs should be the goal.

 

imo, when your soul motivation becomes filling your wallet, then the #'s are irrevalant and you're a peddler

that's how i look it too.

 

Ive sold a few, but im still in the hole for the feed, meds, housing, etc..., my grand paw never would sell a dog, always gave them away, but he would buy one in a heart beat. He just puzzled me over that.

 

I suppose "well being" can be somewhat subjective here lol

 

Was he a church going man. Lots of the older folks believed it to be a sin to put a price on a dog. Or maybe he felt if it wasn't worth him keeping he couldn't in good consciousness sell it. So he gave them away.

Peddlers sell for the Money. They will also talk a dog up to make it apear more than it is.

You mow your lawn and find a litter...
You breed two dogs cause you have them...
You breed two dogs with the only reason is cause thier related...
You have a website...
You have a seperate puppy phone number...
You have a yearly advetisement in magazines...
YOU OWN A PET STORE...
Your only intentions are $$$...
You make excuses like i have x ammount invested...
You have no intentions of maintaing quality since the breeding pair are of poor quality...
You dont improve the breed by culling all undisirable traits..
You overlook any health issues to make the breeding...
You breed the red nose smut to a blue nose paul to get a purple ribbon...
You breed for a certain look...
You got a mississppi blockhead,florida gator mouf or a chupadogra...
Your dog has a golden head or other excellent rare features such as a tuxedo...
You dont keep at least half the litter...
You dont donate pups to friends and family...
You have papers...
You and the adba have a ongoing relationship....
You kept the pick for yourself,but will part with it...
You breed curs and sell the offspring possibly toping the rom list....
You hang papers and use alternative studs knowing dna exist...
You pay 20k for a fake champion to breed....
You go to jail for...peddling....
Your first name and last are the same....
You are breeding a family name that your father or brother built,just to destroy it peddling it...
You merry into a family steal and share the recipe...
Your name rymes with ped,rom,sike or bat as the schoolteacher spills it...
You sell pups on a famous dogs name in the ped,and not thier parents merrits...
You retire in S America off a famous dog that stud fees and pup $ provided...
You brand and market your animals name...
You buy others hard work and share it with the masses...
You seek those rare lines and exploit them ....
You dont need an outcross...
You dont prove the prospects you keep...
If you dont recognize a peddler it probably the last person you bought a dog from...
You might be a peddler IF YOUR YOU...

For me it is a simple definition. You sell something for a living you are a peddler. This is not a bad thing in itself. There are both good honest peddlers and dishonest bad peddlers. In our dogs it had become a derogatory name but I don't see it that way. To me a peddler is simply someone who sells something to make a living. I do like pistolas interpretation. Lol

 

yeah if you aint trying or dont have room for at least one or two pups then wtf is the point of breeding cuz you cant keep any of your work.

 

Say somebody has a litter every now and then but doesn't keep not one pup, he's a full blown peddler IMO.
