Just Venting

Ok... I've seen posts about people hanging titles and labeling their dogs "bulldogs" but they haven't seen tough comp and some of those hunts are/were otc. How and why did the falling of the sdj make it easier for camps to put a xw or dg or any other earned title on their peds? Like I stated above, "I've seen the posts" on here but I haven't seen anyone voice their opinion(s) on how we can try to put a stop to it. From what I've seen and heard in the past couple years I would rather get a dog with a ped that has no titles and no blue or red letters on it than get a dog with a ped that has all that because I don't know what to trust. For example, none of my mentor's dogs have pretty peds. A few months ago he even had a guy pass on a young hound that caught and buried his hog. The said person still didn't want the hound my mentor offered him because he said the ped wasn't pretty enough. He unknowingly passed on a hound that is off of a 3 timer that no hog could scratch back into because he didn't like the ped. With that being said do yall think its any way we can get this thing back in order by not letting camps put titles on stuff without it being a hog hunt with proof that it took place? Just venting...

 

Knowing the dogs..and who breed them is the key. The issue is weeding through all the "Dogmen" and "breeders"..to actually begin to learn a thing or two right out the gate.
Dogs cant see the colors or itles on their ped. Most registries print in black n white also.
Know what you get..look at the dog...and earn your own titles...build your own castle.

 

Right fedsonline is only place you see colorful pedigrees, and only reason they have color is because person posting took a notion to change color. I say worry about yourself, and let everybody else do what they want. Hard enough to find good dogs for yourself, don't go putting more work on yourself trying to find em for the rest of the world.

 

you gonna always have some out there that want to buy a pretty ped than a true bulldog. this is why there's so many false peds going around now, like the guy (he posted on here before) that has very tight blood on a # of popular dogs and says he has frozen seaman off them all.

 

There's nothing you can do to stop people from scheming to get $ or into a position they want to be in. You know the phrase "fake it to make it". It's sad people resort to those tactics but it's a reality. Shit I remember hearing about fake reports IN the journal.

There's another phrase lots of folks use "Those in the know will know". I like to take it a little futher with "& if they don't know, someone they know will know". LOL

 

All of you posted some very good answers. I have no plans on getting stock from anyone that won't let me see what I'm getting with my own two so I'm not worried about that. At the end of the day the hangers and peddlers are profiting while our breed is suffering. @bbad I know exactly who you're talking about but I din't know he was on here. He has some of the tightest stock from ROMs, Gr Ch, and Ch in the world LMAO

the better question should be what is bred good? seeing is knowing..... if anyone needs peds on line to know what a good dog is they are in sad shape at the end of the day who cares what another does ?

 

EXACTLEY, it is sad just how many people take peds as the end all be all.
