Very "typey" you can tell they're family and they're bulldogs no doubt! Impeccable health! Best of luck on a healthy litter.

    Thanks!

I do have a pretty set phenotype here. Odio is my only dog here that I would say does not follow my lines typical general phenotype. He's rangy and has a more narrow, longer muzzle than my others do as did his dam Bella. I find the ones like that can shut their mouths a lot better than say those girls I posted head shape. Them females head shape is very typical in my dogs.. Odio and his dam more favor the Geachiman dogs in phenotype. The rest of mine favor the Midnight Cowboy side of the family in bone structure and build.

It was the main reason Odio was my pick of the litter. I'd consider him more of a throwback to the geachiman phenotype.

She's the smallest dog I've ever owned. I would love a whole yard of dogs her size. That is probably one of the only traits that vary widely in my dogs. Can be from 25 to 70 lbs. I have no consistency with size. Even with in the same litter.

I think sucessful is a stretch. That's always up to ones definition of sucess and is always subject to interpretation but thank you for the compliment.

I never got into the dogs to be the next breeder extraordinaire or even be known at all. I've just always enjoyed everything from the breeding, whelping a litter, raising up pups/adults and putting some pups in capable hands to see how the friuts of my labor turn out. Really, every aspect of these dogs from their creation all the way up to their demise and everything inbetween. Picking up dog shit has become very therapeutic to me over the years lol.

The real credit would go to the gentleman my dogs came from originally, my foundation dogs. I'm not trying to re-create the wheel here, the wheel was already highly functional since long before I aquired it. I'm just trying to maintain it.

I've been blessed to not only know what I myself want and look for in a dog but to also be able to have where they came from a simple phone call away.

To me, consistency is the most important aspect of breeding dogs. I do feel that I am fairly successful at producing consistently, my own personal expectations of my dogs that is.

The people who really deserve the credit for what I've been able to do here is them, Their help over the last 20 years has been pivotal in not only the way I think when it comes to the dogs but also the way I breed or choose what gets bred here... While it has been a long while since I've asked either of them for breeding advise, the option is always there. Helps when I want to know history. Early on in the dogs, they really helped me along the way and their respect alone makes me feel quite sucessful at times.

I've truly been blessed in the company I have been fortunate enough to keep over the years in the dogs.

I still haven't reached all my goals and continually add new ones here and there with the dogs as time goes on. A lifetimes work is never really finished completly in ones own lifetime. My biggest goal and measure of sucess won't ever be accomplished in my own time on this rock being that it involves one of my kids taking over what is becoming, rather quickly as the years speed past me, my lifetimes work here.

My ultimate goal not only in the dogs but in life as a whole has never changed since I was 16 or 17 years old. It has always been to create my own sucessful family of these dogs, maintain and strive to better it and be able to hand over my entire adult lifes work over to one or both of them.

They really have been FULLY schooled and are both well educated in these dogs, all aspects of them, in the hopes they will pick up what I will one day put down and run with that shit full speed ahead for another 40,50,60 years....

My money's on the Keystone Kitten running with the ball but time will tell. She has always been way more intrigued by them and involved with the day to day up keeping of dogs, raising and breeding aspect than my son ever cared to be.

That's wonderful to hear and see. I know from self experience that for my family members do truly take interest in all aspects it's a full-time job. Hypothetically speaking, If an accident happens ,I have found it very challenging to teach one all my family members not to be scared ,not to panic ,grab the breaking stick, get them broken asap . So much responsibility in owning these Bulldogs. From eating, healthcare ,exercise ,bedding , kennel care what have you ... I see you going a long ways AGK.. because it is a family affair. Who knows maybe my grandchildren or their children might know you as a modern-day JP Colby... And for those y'all that don't know that's a huge compliment .. I'm proud of you keep up the good work. We all know the old saying , - "The Test of the dog is the show, The Test of a family is time " ..

    So true.

The real work is why I was never into puppies and breeding.

My biggest question has always been what makes puppy shit stick like glue?

    Things to ponder I guess,

That I couldn't answer. Lol can't say I ever even thought about it.

I enjoy pups and the whelping and weening of them. Up until about 12 to 15 weeks old if they are in my house, then they start to get on my nerves. Lol.

This will be one of the first times ever I'll be able to put them outside in a kennel after I ween them. I usually have late fall or early winter litters so they usually have to be inside the whole time.
That makes it more challenging for me. Unless ones ok with the smell of dog shit in the home. I am not a fan of that.. My whelping area is in my basement. As is my forced air furnace.

Lets just say I do constant house cleaning when I have a litter. Lol. Im OCD and it gets 100x worse when I have pups in the house.

When we had filas we did the litters in the house and when the English Bulldog had hers it was also in the house.

My hat is off to any and every one who breeds dogs the right way and putting in the time.

Just not my cup of tea. LOL

Best of luck. I'd wager they will be something (maybe even a 'mofo')

Well said. The part that really resonates with me is the picking up dog shit being therapeutic. Thought I might be breathing in to much of the shit ( no pun intended ).

For me, the dogs themselves are therapeutic.

I have an old iron lawn chair on the yard. Sometimes I will sit there and just look at the dogs.

And true, raking shit slows everything down to where I can think. (From the great Forrest Gump, "I'm not a smart man")

For some it is the old car/truck int he garage, others it is a garden, for some it is a good book.

For me it i the dogs, which includes raking shit, hauling water from the house to the yard this morning since it it 18 degrees, winterizing and pretty much cursing the little bastards as they take up my time. Then ploppong down to look at them so we can do it all again tomorrow.

    Funny how all that works.

You should see my retarded hunchback from 300 one handed shovel thrust I've mastered for picking up dog shit.

Lol Leonitus himself would be proud. :))

Going out and raking \ picking up shit or just being out back with the dogs is calming to me mostly because it is the only part of my day that I get to have peace for myself and no one requires something of me.. I have a high stress job then I go home and my daughter being such a jock and she has to get taken here, there and everywhere for practices and meets constantly.
The 2 hours or so I spend after work and before we start the daily run around routine is very relaxing in a normally hectic lifestyle.

I would imagine the feeling is like when the carpenter is building something or the mechanic is working on his private show car feels.. At peace. We all need more of that in this rat race we call life...

    Very well said.

And as far as the kid goes, trust me when I say this: My son played base ball from Feb. to November. Football from July til Oct/Nov. Wrestling from October to the end of spring. BJJ when there was an open night.

We were in a constant rat race. It never seemed to an end. And in time it did.

I sit back now and would kill for him to be young and chasing him from ball park to ball park, gym to gym, field to field.

    It goes way fast.

    Savor the times.
