The more I grow this the more I feel this isn't Jack Frost and it was mislabeled. I'm leaning more towards Albino Averys or TaT. Either way, they're pretty potent.

After a 2 month hiatus, I've got myself back in the lab this morning.
Melmak, Pearly Gates and Phoenix Oysters are what I'm working on now. The Phoenix I got a sample to clone from a wild specimen I found while out deer hunting a few weeks ago.

Are these magic shrooms? Melmak sounds like my kind of shit!

 

The Melmak and Pearly Gates are stable isolated strains of Psilocybe Cubensis ( what most people refer to as shrooms or majic mushrooms ) the Phoenix Oysters are a gourmet. I also have Psilocybe Natalensis going again. That's also a magic mushroom. About twice as potent as Psilocybe Cubensis is.

The Pearly Gates photo I pulled from the internet I haven't fruited it yet. Same with the Phoenix Oysters. Those I swabbed in the wild and put on Agar to start growing it myself from. The wild sample. The Natalensis and Melmak photos are from my grows.

 

The melmak was the one that caught my interest! As a child who grew up on Alf, Melmak holds a special place in my heart! I need to eat some!

 

That's what I started back up with after a little break. I got 12 qt jars of melmak spawn colonizing currently on millet. I only grew 2 shoebox tubs of it earlier this year then moved on. It's the largest fruit strain I have currently. They get pretty big. I just got in AA+, Z-strain and a different strain of Chocolate Kringle since the genetics I have produce little squat fruits, the largest of them only being 1.5" tall. They were a pain to harvest so I ditched those genetics and traded for new ones that came from more normal sized mushrooms.

I just did my first spore swab giveaway this weekend to 4 winners this past Sunday. Held a contest in a group on FB and had people post their pets. Lot of people participated it was pretty cool. Even met someone who is into gamedogs. Lol was my first winner easily. Picked a reptile, and exotic a dog and a cat to be fair.

It's funny because I don't even like eating them. It's rare that I do and when I do ever take any it's like 1g, if that. I sure do love to grow them though. It's like breeding dogs but 100x faster and I can select my genetics in the petri dish instead of waiting 2 years. Being able to swab a mushroom in the woods and bring it back home and grow it is dope AF to me. Lol not really sure why but it is.

 

Got a couple strains running wild currently. Torque F-7, Melmak, Hillbilly and AMVP.



Few weeks out from having fruit with all of them. Might start some Panaeolus Cyanescens to Agar once I get through what I have going currently.

Hoping to finally get into the 100 gram club with this Melmak. It's going to be my largest P. Cubensis to date. Already is.

What’s your favourite type of music when tripping? Ate a high dose before and couldn’t even work youtube. Ended up listening to some soul music lol. Gonna have a playlist set up for my next trip.

 

It's been a while since I full blown tripped. I wouldn't typically listen to music though. I be in the woods or somewhere out in nature. I never liked being indoors when on Shrooms or LSD. Nothing will make me have a bad trip faster than being stuck indoors while tripping. I like growing them more than I like taking them though. As an adult with priorities and responsibilities it's hard for me to be useless for 8 to 12 hours any given day. If I do take them, I'm more likely to micro dose or take up to about 1 gram which is enough to give me the giggles and the being hugged from the inside feeling but without all the visuals and I can still function and get things done.

If I did listen to anything, it would probably be something soft or light like easy listening or something of that nature. Nothing like metal or rap. Be a recipe for the mind to wander to the dark side.

Hell, for as much of them that I grow, I wish I enjoyed doing them more than I do.

 

Yeah summer I’ll probably try some outdoors. Just enjoy going with the music in the background. Had it go dark once and put me off a little lol. I’m in the same boat as you though, I struggle to get the time to enjoy a trip. It’s been a few months for me purely because of time.

Finally going to attempt to stabilize my own strain of Psilocybe Cubensis. I've been growing Melmak for about 2 years now. I've finally got 2 seperate mutations in the same tub. I've cloned this wavy cap mutation so I can attempt stabilizing the phenotype. Made sure I swabbed it too just for a backup.

Lol how you like that Dabs burn on my thumb. Hot liquefied THC juice dripped out my vaporizer and onto my thumb immediately blistering. That was 2 weeks ago and it still looks like that today.






Then, I also have this blob mutation going on that I'm going to watch for a little bit longer before I decide what to do with it. Appears to just be an inside out cap with no stipe. Looks like it has gills inside as well.

Lol I'm probably more excited than I should be over it but I've been waiting a long time for mutations and to have 2 pop up in the same tub, well, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

lol that’s crazy man. Seem proper into them so I’d expect you to be just as into eating them too. Think it was you who mentioned earlier on the topic about not having the time. That’s sort of how I feel, hard to find the time to experience a high dose trip again. Was the best drug experience I’ve had though. Suppose everything has its time and place mind you. Back in the day I thought raving on mdma with mates was the best thing ever. Shrooms are just different though, first time was a low dose and I thought a few blurry lines and some colours was amazing. A high dose blew everything away and is hard to even put into words. Been thinking about getting an Airbnb for the weekend out in the sticks and enjoying it again. Can’t lie though, the low dose I was thinking yeah everyone should try this. The high dose it got a bit dark and was a battle not to have a panic attack lol deffo wouldn’t advise it for someone new.

As for your shrooms that are growing small…there is a name for it I can’t remember it though. I experienced the same thing first time growing. If I remember correctly they are meant to be stronger. Aborts I think it was called. Currently got some penis envy on the go but still got a few oz of golden teachers. Like you say, it’s just hard to get the time.
