@Bulldoghistorian do you recall the NKK crew and their spokesman Dr.Death called about John Wayne or the Joe Montana dog ( lost on which dog it was) while in America.
They eyed the black & tan from Sparks and Randy.
It never came around which is a pity. I remember we'd convo about that decades ago.

I remember that green syrop in a brown bottle popular in TX as well in that period of time.

 

Against All odds

 

I have visited many yards in the past and the men who put the most effort into feeding (what I know of) the animals were Danny Burton and BMC.

 

After a memorable visit to BMC yard, I was left with a few impressions.
1/ What he fed his dogs I'd have ate myself.
2/ I was totally out my league.
3/ Never drink rum and try talking sense on bulldogs.

 

One of those with common sense and a good sense of humor and knows what is right and wrong.

 

Books, magazines and conversations like these is truly what make this breed so special.

People from all over the world just come together and totaly understands what eachother and the ups/downs.. Can't really see the same love and passion among other breeds, tho there are some really passionate dogmen in other breeds also.

Sportsmanship and respect for each other is what creates bonds of friendship. Happy and proud to have played a modest role in the game when it was at its peak. Consider myself more of an eternal student instead of a graduated professional dog man because there are guys walking around with a lot more knowledge than me. Around 40 years ago I learned the meaning of real gameness in bulldogs and witnessed the honour and integrity of many in the game who owned them..
It's my considered opinion that @F.W.K. and @Bulldoghistorian rank among the best of the best.. World class dogmen!
