I've seen this one before. (Wasn't sure if I shoulda posted it, or not. Glad someone did). Very powerful! I have JUST the person to E-mail it too.....

    and yes,
EVERY BYB should view it, (but truthfully, after days of words with one), I think it's true, their way of thinking will probably remain unchanged.....

    no harm in trying tho.

and for those that couldn't watch it: I understand. But when you're one of the ones, either holding/restraining, or inserting the needle, it's the saddest thing to be a part of.
Which is why I get SOOOOO bent inregards to human ignorance....
    That clip IS reality.
My old boss never failed to tell me I was acting "unprofessional" when the tears would escape.....
    I'm still "unprofessional"......

Thanks for bumping this back up. I didn't have highspeed when it was first posted and couldn't see the video. Very very sad stuff. Reminds me of when I've had to have dogs PTS. I hope its a long time before I have to go through that again.

Honestly, I think this applies to everybody, not just casual breeders. No matter how hard you screen homes, this can happen to one of your dogs. It happens to breeders who have contracts which specify that the dog is to come back to them, not go to a shelter. Plus, if you're sending out intact dogs, you can't always count on the new owners to have the same breeding ethics that you have, so then there's the issue of what happens to pups produced from your dogs. I think if I ever breed a litter, any dogs sold outside my "circle" are going to be microchipped with my information.

I like that idea very much! If one ended up in a shelter they would contact you and you could save its life and take your pup back and go after the other guy that broke the contract. If I bred dogs I'd do this with the pups. To many irresponsible ppl.
And CB thanks for the reality check it is desperatly needed these days. It was ver very hard to watch. *tears in eyes*.

Yeah, thanks for putting this video on here. It made me cry. Then China came over and started trying to lick my face which, of course, made me cry harder.

UMMMMMMMM..... Pretyfulpitbull- You missed the POINT. YOU(because you are a BYB) and people like you are the ones that are putting this breed in that position to be put down. It is a har djob but someone has to do it. It is becasue of BYB's that there are soooooooooo many pit bulls dying in shelters.
    </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Heres the message i was replying to!!!My point was just that nature is normal.Did you ever think that they can feel the poison in their veins before they die and know right before it happens what has been done?Their brain should be shut down first so there isn't even a second of pain.IMO<!-- google_ad_section_end --><!-- / message --><!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) --><!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Not cost effective.....eps on the scale that these shelters are workin. These shelters need to quit sqaundering their funds use them more appropriatly.....
Ppl that do feel strong in thier oppinions esp in this particular subject need to do thier homework a lil better .....before jumping on the emotional bandwagon.

Propaflo is affordable anestetic...fast onset, short term effect, allows to dose to affect. Best choice as a pre induction w/ a compromised animal or before Euthinasia.....and it is not controlled, atleast in the state that I work in.

But hey that's just my oppinion & exp.

What are you ppl offering ....EMOTIONS.

Euthinasia is still, one of the most humain methods that your vet/tech shelter worker can offer any animal.

I might get some nay sayers on what I'm about to tell you all in print. Euthinaisa solution does not sting or cause anymore discomfort than any other injectable drug esp IV rout....why most jump or show discomfort when recieving a drug IV rout is the initial admin of the needle ....ga plays a factor. Or when they slip the vein and the drug is admin through the tissue....result BURNING sensation latter affect.

The only thing that a animal is aware of is that it is going NIGHT NIGHT. The animal has NO concept of how the drug works....safe to say that alot of you folks dont know how these drugs work either. Your oppinions are based on Emotions....

So you guys want me to be a part of an animal being euthanized to prove I care, huh?Tell me where to go.If you can sit there while a person passes i'm sure you can while an animal does. Why would I even view the video if I did not care?I'm sorry but I put a lot of heart and thought into everything. Is that so wrong?Yes it is a good video. But I would really appreciate it if everyone im or pms me and asks what I mean before calling me such a bad person. This is my last post on this subject.THANK YOU

I didnt read your post but nobody on this site has a right to look down on people who think different. Shit if you ask me i wouldnt adopt a pit bull out of a shelter because i dont beleive in fixing other people's mistakes. And its there mistake for breeding. So prettyfulpitbull you can think what you want on the subject dont let these people get you mad like that.

I never said that you were a bad person,I never implied that you were a bad person.

You go back and you re-read my reponse, to your theory and oppinions.

You look for the holes,You look for a better solution.....I gave ya one, now what are you gonna do with it?

You cant stop the procsess of euthinasia in a shelter, however you can affect how the task of it is .... Executed. (No pun intended)

    How strong are your convictions?

Might mean that in order to meet the standard that you "might" have an "Idea" about.....will afford an animal 48 hrs as opposed to 72 hrs. These shelters are run on a budget. What about raising the adoption fee an extra 3$ per animal to off set the cost of the added Sed/anestetic properties to assist in the process of euthinasia. Many things to consider and there are better options than what are being provided for these animals.

Emotions are worth nothin if it doesnt motivate you.

I do not support No kill shelters, nor do I support the placement of this breed within the public. I do not support the Idea of leting domestic animals fend for them selves. I do not support AR agendas or free raticals w/ the same process.

I do support Euthinasia as a humain means to an end of a animal.

BTW, aint no you guys here...just me. Quit, PM me with your shit.

Yep.. it is more humane to put an animal to sleep than make it live out the rest of its life in a small smelly cemet kennel, cheap dog food and what ever attention a volunteer (if they have them) can give.

Dogs and other animals become stressed, sick, and that also leads to bad habits and a training issue which most people dont want to deal with when they adopt.. Generally many animals adopted out of the shelter are more likely to end up back at the shelter.

OMG! I couldn't even get through it all - I stopped watching it after the 2nd puppy was to be put down and was in tears. That is why I spay/neuter my animals and I always have! I have 6 cats and they are all spayed/neuter (except for one cause he's still a kitten, but getting it done shortly) and my dog. I didn't see having more pitbulls in the shelters let alone contributing to the population in shelters. I feel so strongly about this and I hope that one day I can make an impact and educate people and let them realize what they are doing... I do want to become a veterinarian and I know that I will have to euthanize animals, but it will be my choice and I will ONLY put down animals because it will end their sufferings. I know this may sound stupid to some, but I will not be a typical vet. I will actually care (not saying that they don't) and I will NOT put down an animal just because some one dosen't want to deal with it anymore or because no one wants them... Sorry, for ranting but this just made me realize even more on what I need to do as far as helping out animals. This is my goal in my life...

Yup, part of the job....No one likes it.

But if you can sleep at night knowing that you turned a client down when they wanted to have "their pet" Euthinzed for lil to no reason on principals....then I will say good for you!

...just know that the animal that you turned away, is most likely suffering......end up in a shelter schedualed to die 3 days, end up on the side of the rd to fend for its self. Or the owner attemps the process them selves.

    All in a days work.

Stupidity like that is the reason I had to take a HUMAN aggressive Pit Bull out to the farm and my dad put a bullet in it's head. The dog attacked someone for no reason and would go after people for no reason. It was a rescue dog. We had it evaluated by two trainers and they said to euthanize it. But I couldnt find a vet to because none of them would "euthanize for behavior problems" and told me to call a trainer. The one trainer even tried to help me and called several vets for me and we still couldnt find no one. Thank god now I have a vet that WILL euthanize a dog if it needs done. As simms said . Better to euth a dog rather than have it dumped somewhere.
