Bye bye site

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that the www.apbtconformation.com site is no longer running. Seems it has been shut down, probably permanently, due to politics. It's a shame b/c it really had some good basics for newbies to the breed in distinguishing the difference b/n the true working APBT & the bred for show & size "pit bull".

 

What a shame Maybe the sites just down for a little bit?

This is what I'm hoping. The guy that runs it is a good guy, but burned out from working his butt off to help the breed and having people battling him over it. I would be, too, if I were in his shoes. That's why I'm glad to be a nobody in the breed right now.

Not to me. I can only hope this is a passing thing. The loss of the APBT Conformation site is a greater loss than probably even he knows, in spite of what the bitter naysaysers contend.

 

What is showing up on your screens? As I have just tried to access it and it is working for me.I can try to get through to Scott to ask him.

Man thats terrible! I was looking for that very page yesterday. It was extremely informative and interesting page. That is really sad. Hopefully it will be put up somewhere else.

 

Yeah, I'm REAL bummed about that. Scot's a GREAT guy, and was/is a wonderful help in regards to this breed.He had just posted the story I wrote in the Blog there, sounded ok in his e-mail, and then, voila, that's it. I was member there for over a year, and am very sad it's down. I learned a LOT over there.:mad:






Come on, Scot, get back in the saddle!!!! You are missed!!!!!!!

 

Could anyone PM me why the site got shut down? "Politics" isn't quenching my curiosity

 

Evidently it was partly a financial issue. Scot says he's going to do the best he can to get the site back up.

yeah, I just noticed certain sections are unattainable. The message board is up tho. I have it in my favorites, so I just click there.

Planning to bring it back on a local server I was unable to transfer it in one peice and much got corrupted. Then I begin to see all the speculations and negativity arising. This has always been a selfless task and I held on even though I have continued to get second hand reports of people talking crap about everything my wife and I have been doing. We basically stopped breeding (for a couple reasons) and showing so that our efforts could not be confused with having and agenda! YET, I get more people complaining about what we are doing than anything else! Yet none of these people have the balls to email me directly and voice an opinion. Even though I have asked and begged for peoples input! I have never ignored one comment or input as long as it was rational.

Lets see any one of you, put youself out there like that and withstand that crap for over 4 years.

A few people deserve thanks definitely and have contributed to the site. A few other people helped me pay a small part of the bills for the last quarter, but I dont have the money to continue and I find it non-constructive especially when I read the crap that has been posted by the "experts" recently.

There are many other reasons why I am done, and much has built up and come to a culmination recently! Call it a melt down or burn out, but what it is is a conscious decision to step back! I can fight BSL, I can fight to give the public a positive image of the breed, but I will NOT ALSO fight those who should be on my side supporting any positive effort while anyone is at least trying to do it!

Hopefully a few of the things I have done will make a difference eventually but I doubt it!

That was a great site. It's sad to see that he's given up. The articles on that site were very well written.

 

Yay! That's great news. I visited that site pretty regularly.
