I happen to think it's cruel to leave a dog in a kennel 8+hrs a day with no room to stretch or go to the bathroom. Atleast on a chain they have a much larger area to walk, stretch, use the bathroom, and get some fresh air. Ever since I put mine on chain set-ups they are happier, more fit, and even have more energy. They don't sit out there and think "Gee, I wish I could be in the house right now." They are animals and don't have a thought process like that. Everything they do is based on instinct and reactions. I do however, bring them in if it's bad out. But as soon as it clears up, they are back outside.

My dog jumps fences, and I would rather her be on a 30 foot chain (I know many of you use shorter chains, but I have only 1 dog and the space, so she's lucky) with lots of room to run around than in a 4X12' kennel with a top that she could still very well bust her way out of.
I think she would be much much happier on a chain than in a kennel, in my situation. Plus a chain is more secure, less chance of her getting out. And if she gets out here, the police have all the right to shoot her. Basically, if she gets out, I probably will never see her again. So I am opting for a chain when we move at the end of april.

Is an electric fence out of the question? I used to have problems from my dogs jumping the fence and digging under it but since i put up my electric fence they are fine. They havent got loose since. Just wondering if thie fence is out of question?

Electric fences dont do diddly for most bulldogs, or any stubborn dog for that matter. They will run through it and hardly flinch if a bunny, or stray goes running by.....but they know when its time to come back and the fun is gone, that going through that spot hurts...and some wont cross back into the yard after leaving. I would never trust an electric fence only-period. Not to mention, to unsuspecting viewers it looks like a couple stray dogs out loose.

Wouldnt that meen that they are fricken "Pit-tiggers"! LOL. That is the funniest thing i have read in a while. I guess that is where the brindle comes from in all these different breeds (Boxers, Whippits, OEBDs, ect....) Our dogs are not dogs at all,,,,,,,,there Cats. i have to remember this one Scotsman.:D

My house is alittle different. I have 4 bedrooms. 2 of these rooms are for 2 of my dogs. the Garage has a wonderful set up. It has 4 kennels inside, eachone separated by about 3 feet. i dont leave the house unless i go to get food so for the main part i think that my dogs are in their 4 by 6 ft kennels for a total of 3 hrs out of the day. They normally are outside together but, I have to keep a damn good eye on them. Most are females so its not too bad. My males are the ones that have to be separated at all times. If they catch wind of eachother than its on, I cant have that, so they both get one side of the land. My dog houses are heated so I dont have to worry about harsh winters. It sure cost me a lot when the electricity bill comes in though.

  12. THE "BLUES" COULD ACTUALLY BE SEAL-COLORED, AND THE WAY ONE OF PARENTS WERE DESCRIBED SOUNDS LIKE IT MIGHT BE "BLUE FAWN"

    GOT ANY PICTURES???

  13. A DOG ON A 15 FOOT CHAIN HAS 30 FOOT IN ALL DIRECTIONS TO ROAM AROUND...AS APOSED TO EVEN A LARGE 8x8 KENNEL, WHERE THERE IS ONLY 8 FEET TO WALK UNTIL THEY HAVE TO STOP.

  14. I have posted a picture in the gallery of my dog. Just look up Isis at that is her, I will post a better one, my computer is dial-up so it takes a long time to upload pictures.
