Hey guys/girls how is everyone doing??Well I have a concern about my male pit? he is only 4months old. And yesterday I noticed he was missing 2 teeth a bottom and a top there is like the little holes where they were at??But my concern is are they going to grow back or is he going to stay like this with no teeth??He might of broke them MAYBE when we were playing tug of war but i know his limits and i know that couldnt of happen..Or sometime's when I have family comeover and they have little girl/boys that are small ill usually lock him up in his cage..even though I know he gets and plays with them fine..but you never know there can be an accident so.. "better safe then sorry"(and yes he does perfectly fine with kids, adults)just making sure that you dont say well maybe u should socialize him with people but like i said before there can be an accident that gets the dog mad and bites known how kids are they can pinche him or whatever but back to the subject...,So when he's locked up and they go to look at him he tends to bite the cage.but as soon as i see him do that i say no and he lets go but maybe that could of broke the teeth..So if u people can help me out with my dog??I would really appreciate all your answers..Thanks

Pups usually loose their teeth around 4 months. Yea, they will grow back.

Just puppy teeth Taz, dont worry. Once the adult teeth come in, then you need to worry about losing teeth because those dont come back.

My female pup is also missing a tooth (she's 3-4months old I'm guessing because I got her as a rescue sort of, so I'm not 100% positive on her age).

Also, I've noticed that whenever she chews her kong toy (semi hard rubber toy) that she has slight bleeding around her puppy teeth at the gums. Is this a normal part of her losing her puppy teeth? Or is this something I should be concerned about?

Taz, is your male experiencing this?

Sometimes a overly hard toy will break teeth, and make gums bleed-even in adult dogs. At that young of an age I've found they adore nasty old socks with a knot tied in one end. They will just sit and mouth that thing for hours, and it is also a good way to get them used to tug-of-war and later a springpole! I'm warning you though, that sock is going to be soaked, nasty, and probably growing some form of alien bacteria within a few days from the ammount of slobber that will be on it :D

LMAO, you got it 14Rock. I just throw it in the washer and dryer for a fresher toy. Until it becomes a pile of strands anyways LOL

Puppy teeth will bleed when they are working them hard. They are working them loose getting them ready to be replaced by the adult teeth.

This was kind of what I was thinking, but not sure.

Thanks for the link Suki, lots of good info there.

Rock- I thought the Kong might be a little hard for her so.........she got to go on a shopping spree last night! She got a new pillow for taking naps on as well as a couple of soft rope toys for chewing on. The rope toys are about 24" long with knots on each end, so they should be good for getting her ready for the spring/flirt pole once she's older.

Taz- What toys do you use for letting your boy chew on?

This reminded me. My mom's pup is losing teeth now. Except, instead of one or two teeth he's loosing 3...a day. We are up to 9 missing teeth now. He is basily full of bloody gums. lol Never seen a dog lose that many that fast. He was playing with Jaha and got blood all over Jaha. *rolls eyes* Jaha looked like he had just got done killing something with all the blood over his muzzle & face. Scared the tar outta me when his canines fell out. I wasn't expecting it, lmao.

I have alot of toys for my boy..he's spoiled..lol..I have him a few ropes diffrent ones like a rope with a tennis ball at the end that he loves and then just regular toys, teddy bears, that last like a couple hours only..lol..I dont know if he is too young for this but he loves them a "pig's ear" he loves them he spends hours with them but after a day they are garbage. he demolishes them.lol.And yes i only give him a pig's ear under very close supervision..

I've never seen a dog loose that many teeth a day either Flamingo, LOL. I think It would be pretty funny to see a pic, probably looks something like a jack-o-lantern :D
