Royal Canin seems to be great for my pups! I mix in some raw meat and blended veggies a few times a week and they love it all and I have had no health problems to date

Does Petsmart stock Dick Van Pattens Natural choice, or was that Petco?

I mix it with blue buffalo for my Shar-Pei due to food allergies but not on my working dogs. I use Pro grade from my local feed store. I add suplments to the feed such as raw eggs, vitamines, B complex, and so on. Folic acid for my pregnant Pits and prenatal vitamines for them as well. I own a farm so they get live raw meat as well. Chicken, rabbit, lamb and so on.

It's my personal favorite, and has a VERY high rating. I'll hunt for that link.

How to grade your dog's food:
Start with a grade of 100:

    1) For every listing of "by-product", subtract 10 points

    2) For every non-specific animal source ("meat" or "poultry", meat, meal or fat) reference, subtract 10 points

    3) If the food contains BHA, BHT, or ethoxyquin, subtract 10 points

    4) For every grain "mill run" or non-specific grain source, subtract 5 points

    5) If the same grain ingredient is used 2 or more times in the first five ingredients (i.e. "ground brown rice", "brewerâ?Ts rice", "rice flour" are all the same grain), subtract 5 points

    6) If the protein sources are not meat meal and there are less than 2 meats in the top 3 ingredients, subtract 3 points

    7) If it contains any artificial colorants, subtract 3 points

8 ) If it contains ground corn or whole grain corn, subtract 3points

    9) If corn is listed in the top 5 ingredients, subtract 2 morepoints

    10) If the food contains any animal fat other than fish oil, subtract 2 points

    11) If lamb is the only animal protein source (unless your dog is allergic to other protein sources), subtract 2 points

    12) If it contains soy or soybeans, subtract 2 points

    2) If the food is endorsed by any major breed group or

Currently I am using Innova puppy.... I switched from Royal Canin after researching the Innova... it is one of the best out there, just as cheap overall (you don't need as much food) Also, the Timberwolf is great tho some say they trust Innova more because they do not "farm out" their veggie ingredients but grow them all themselves...

    Another great chart, Suki!

I don't know much about the other foods. I've always fed mine Innova dog and he seems fine so on it, so I haven't had to switch.

I've heard people speak highly of both Timberwolf and Canadae.
