pretty girl, not the typical greyline dogs....what i don't get about those dogs is that, they are lacking rear angulation...what ever happened to that? that is a HUGE thing for working dogs! And i'm not hating, just pointing out that the gotti, greyline and those type of dogs have absolutely no rear angulation. i wonder why? anyways, keep up the good work with her! :)

Interesting point, what BTW is the rear angulation supposed to provide the dog so it can work better....just wondering?

  3. That is true. I've never noticed the rear angulation before. She has to pull a different way than my other female because she does have a lower rear. But to be honest the best pullers I've seen are diffently amstaff dogs, but that's in the GA, TN area so I don't know how it goes everywhere else. The game dogs all have lower rear ends now that you've brought that up. What does it help? Maybe jumping, pouncing at prey?

honestly, i don't see anything wrong with what findrodhere is saying. i proudly own a blue amstaff that i acknowledge as an amstaff. i think many people new entering this site don't understand that the term game-dog and apbt refer to proven gamestock bloodlines and that any re gotti line dogs should be mentioned as a bullystyle dog. dogmen have spent countless years raising the stock that they do and losing many dogs in the process. to have someone claim the same moniker without putting that work in is a major insult to a dogman's work. i talked with ed faron on the phone over dogs and immediately understand that i am not on the same wavelength of understanding for game-dogs as he is. Amazing man with a DEEP love for dogs. Thus i was not ready for one of his pups. to own a game-bred apbt is to know their history and what they were prized for. it is not anything as simple as buying a pitbull and calling yourself a pitbull man. this is exactly what brought me to this breed among others. if you don't know the history and information that a seasoned dog man knows, your conversations will always be of apples and oranges. i think that is what causes such a stir with noobs and knowledgable members.
i think that if people, especially those who own pitbulls or any breed similar in size and temperment, are more thick skinned and try not to take things so personal, they would learn and understand a lot more of what is offered at this site. this site is not to reassure one of his/her dog's qualities. (that is on the owner's premise) this site is a tool to help people understand the culture of dog-men(women-sorry devinben and suki) and learn the vast history of game-dogs and the evolution of the breed into modern times. mixing pure-bred game-dogs with others that don't match the standard would be sacriligious in the eyes of a dog-(wo)man.
please don't take what findrodhere is saying as personal but rather understand WHY he is so adamant about his point. all dogs are beautiful and their owners shouldn't need reassurance from others to evaluate the wealth of their dog. take care.

Rep points for this post, very well said and shows an understanding and tolerance that a lot of people lack.

Re-read my post, i got into this argument to point out a mislabeling issue. There's no mixing in my dogs lines, btw. I don't have any issues with pet-quality dogs, especially pet apbts. Although, I don't think a pet apbt-mix or any apbt mix for that reason should be registered as an apbt by a registry (it may be the registry's fault for giving the papers out, but it's the owners fault for intentionally deceiving them). I also feel it is wrong to register a dog as two different breeds (i know there are well known dogs that have been dual registered, but that doesn't make it anymore right). The issue does not lie with pet quality vs gamebred apbts, it lies with amstaff and mixes being represented as apbts. I'm sure the doberman people felt the same way when the 'warlock', 'king' or 'goliath' bloodlines were popular in the 1970s.

    Edit* Good post davidlau

  7. I never was trying to say my dog is a game line dog or saying I wanted you guys to praise my dog. I was just showing some of the greyline dogs are good looking dogs and can be well worked and cometitive in working events.
But I got on this site because I wanted helpful info from knowledgable people. Also I do own an iron line dog now and my other female has some game blood, she just isn't tightbreed at all.
Just wanted to clear up I don't think my greyline is a game-dog in any use of the word. And somewhere down the line I'm sure she was crossed with something, but she still is a nice looking dog to me and others pitbull or amstaff or whatever.
By the way I have already learned alot of helpful stuff just reading on this site. It takes alot of work with these gamedogs and that's why alot of know-how is learned.

Oh I see now, was just confused by the comments requesting "mutts" to use mutt forums and not Game-dog, the mutt folks really need to be here so they can learn from the doggers too, as a proud owner of a fine little mutt :)

  10. damn.. you all need to leave his dog alone... and just admit he has a great lookin dog... there is nothing wrong with a dog looking thicker... pit bulls come in different sizes... you all are gettin you panties in a bunch for no damn reason

Well, no duh pit bulls come in different sizes. We're not discussing that. Appearences aren't everything. We're discussing the reasoning behind the breeding, and the fact that Greyline dogs are not APBTs. ;)

I hope your not who I think you are. . .

  12. who cares if they are or not... you all trip over the smallest things... and yes i am who you think i am... get over it

We trip over these things because. . . Well, I just won't bother explaining it to someone whose heard it before.

See, HighVoltage? I'm having one of my moments.

If all the RE/Greyline dogs I saw looked like her I wouldn't object to them so much. She looks much more in balance than most of the Bully dogs I see. Nice job.

The gentleman has a sweet lookin little dog, he does not appear to care if it is called a staff or bully...that is good. He is workin her and she is excelling....that is great. We as members of game-dog ALL know what makes an APBT...that will never change, it is just nice to see heart from the members regarding this little dog!!!! GSD your not having just any ole moment, your having a moment of clarity and there ain't nothin wrong with that!!!!
