    Hi everyone-

I just got this e-mail today that let me know of yet ANOTHER pit bull that is in a bad situation...she has until Feb 15th or her "owners" will put her down.... I couldn't beleive this as I read it....TOO sad. If anyone here can help...at least by fostering her if not giving her her forever home, PLEASE give me a call and let me know!

The beautiful girl in the attached picture will be put down by her owners February 15th if we cannot find a foster or forever home for her. They have decided they want to “travel” and she is too big for them to take along. They are however, able to take all the small ones……….hmmmmm imagine that.

    (Copy of e-mail text)

Please help us save this sweet girl. Lacie was one of the first dogs to come into the Brookshire pound. We thought she was safe and would be loved forever by the family that first fostered and then decided to adopt her, but……….things change.

Please spread far and wide, this girl is just too sweet and loving to be destroyed because she is now a burden.

I found this old picture of Lacie. Maybe you can use this til I get a better
    one.

    Some info on her.

Based on the info we got when she was brought to us, she's about three now.

She is spayed. Current on all shots. Is on Heartgard.

She has never been crated. (not by me anyway)

Can't see it in this picture, but she has beautiful amber eyes. (Kind of
    like Lion eyes)

She is missing one ear due to the owner prior to coming to us. (The picture
shows her short ear. The other one is a normal ear) She was a bait dog and
they cut one of her ears off and were in the process of cutting the other
    off when she escaped them.

She doesn't like men with hats.

She's scared of a broom, stick etc. She's getting better about not tucking
her tail and running, but still doesn't like them.

She likes to come in the house, but is not completely housebroken. She can
go three or four hours during the day.....but can go all night without
    having an accident.

She prefers being outside sunning, but when it gets really hot, she likes
her A/C (same for the cold side)

She does not like African American men. (I wouldn't either if they cut off
    my ear)

She will kill cats (4 last year made the mistake of coming in our yard).
However she has jumped our four foot fence and chased two more before they
climbed a tree. Due to this behavior, she is now in one side of our kennel
until a new home is found for her.

She does really well with other dogs as long they don't show aggression
towards her. She will stand her ground if she needs to. She was "Mamma
Lacie" to a ton of fosters that came through our yard.

She loves to ride in a truck.

She loves stuffed toys, but keep in mind that she cannot distinguish between
her toys and collectible bears, etc. that might be around someone's house. (I
    found this out first hand)

Well girl, this is all I can think of right now, but if I think of something
    else, I'll let you know.

As soon as hubbie brings the camera back I'll get those other pictures
    downloaded. (It's his company camera)

    (end of e-mail text)

Thank you to ANYONE who can help! Please let me know! PM or call.

Does the fear of men in hats and African American Men lead to aggression?

If so, that's really not the ideal Pit Bull temperment we'd like to see..

    Sad, but true.

In fact, fear aggression is one of the hardest behavioral issues to remedy.

Well maybe some lady can raise her and the dog will keep men away from the house. Keep yet another person from breeding more people.
