my poor blue hives

I have a blue with hives, he has seen a vet and been
Treated but the hives cleared up for about 2 weeks
And then returned, the vet suggested
Changing out his food, my blue is
2yrs and has been eating the
Same food for a 11/2. He does not
Scratch much but he does lick his
Paws alot and has lots of bad gas, he just stopped
The meds about 2wks ago and
I don't want him on any more
Just yet. If I change his food
Do I mix it with old food until
He adjust? Please my blue needs help !

 

Yes change food, most recommended is to go day1 3/4 old food 1/4 new food day2 1/2 old 1/2 new and day 3 1/4 old 3/4 new food then from there give the new food.

I have read that blue dogs do tend to have more skin issues than other colours, just something to think about.
