Well, OJ is walking free too....... I dont give a shit about what they did to those animals...it's passed and really IMO no different than what the fed goverment and HSUS, ASPCA are gonna do. I would like nothing more than to see some pie in the eye just once for those that have been unjustly charged and or prosecuted.

Unfortunatly Vick couldnt be that guy. That is my only interest in the Vick case.

With or with out these dogs I will NEVER support the AR agenda or those that support it.

i know gun laws are MUCH more lenient in other states.... but in CA i think a scilencer would be a felony within its self....

edit: research says it was a viable option for him

"Silencers are legal for private ownership in the following states: AL, AR, AK, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IN, KY, LA, ME, MD, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI, and WY. "

Call me crazy, I think innocent until proven guilty is still a good slogan. Mike Vick may well be guilty, but we are supposed to be past the days when we just string people up just cause we're outraged at allegations. You think you're hearing "facts" on the news?! LMAO!

Actually I'll go even further and say that being proven guilty doesn't mean shit! I've seen way too many innocent people plead and/or get found guilty. No way dude could get a fair trial in this political climate.

Ok Let me ask you a question? Do you honestly think it matters what way they said that he culled those dogs. If he had done it the right way they still would have made a big deal out of it. Again I say MEDIA Hype! This is the same media thT WAS calling a breeding post a RAPE STAND.. Are you serious!! GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK!! Excuse my langauge. Can you tell that a decomposed dog was electricuted? DROWNED? Hung?
If they came in my back yard and found some dogs do you think they would do an autopsy on the dog give me a break man dont fall for that BULLSHIT! Yeah Mike did some dumb shit but it the same shit that fancinates

let me end this post now..GAme bred i am not cussing at you I saw some shit today on espn.com that pissed me off. That is where that came from.[IMG]

"research shows it was a viable option for him"

What do you mean? I am confused. Explain what you're talking about there please.

My silencer statement was just an idea. I am not a gun expert, like I previously stated. IMO I think there are other humane options to 'get rid' of an animal. I am assuming a gun shot to the head is quick and painless, compared to being killed by drowning, hanging, choking, etc.
6. I do not agree with this, not for the fact that you have your own thoughts, as we are all intitled to them.
But for some of us to be called a cur, just because of an opinion that we have in which differs from yours....
I personally never said anything negative towards any other member with a different opinion about this case, and in return would appreciate the same respect....

As I also do not agree with this statement either. (the above)
It too lies along the same lines, he is not stupid nor was it a stupid post, just because he feels differently than the next person...
all any of us can do, is go by what we feel and or have heard....
none of us knows the EXACT truth behind him or his intentions or actions.

Stringing people up cause we're outraged?? What more do they need. The guy admits he's guilty. Witnesses saw him. The only thing left is that you didn't see him...and then you probably still wouldn't believe it. Some of you act like that anyone who owns a pitbull and abuses it or fights it can do no wrong. If they're caught " they're not guilty". It's the System, the police,HSUS,PETA,AR groups, they're the guilty ones. Shows that expose dogfights are "staged" people that are interviewed are "liars".
You better start realizing that this mentality and attitude is not gonna help save the pitbull. You only confirm by your attitude what the public already thinks...that pitbulls and their owners are just alike.

You didn't see him either.

The lowlife witnesses who testified against him had everything to gain by telling the feds what they wanted to hear.

He plead guilty because he didn't have much choice. That's the way the judicial system is set up.

The bottom line is that Vick may or may not be guilty. Whether he is or isn't, he's gonna pay a HUGE price. Fighting a few dogs shouldn't cost a man tens of millions of dollars, a dream career, and a prison term.

This country -and its citizens- needs to get its priorities straight.

He plead guilty because to an extent yes....he was guilty. As to how guilty he is we will never for sure because you are right, none of us were there. But to flush away all that money and his career you would have to beleive that he was involved with the operation.
Who in thier right mind would give up 100 million dollars unless they were guilty ?
Would you ? I know I would fight it tooth and nail if I was innocent, 100 million is an awful lot of money and IMHO well worth 5 years in jail to me.

Idgie and Rockstar: come on, that's not how it works. You know better than that. The reason most defendants take a plea bargain is because they are either stuck with an overworked PD or with legal bills that they can scarce afford. The prosecution is also overworked and a plea bargain may result in a reduced sentence. I'm not sure how it works in a federal case, when the last member of a conspiracy pleads guilty, however.

Regardless, Vick does not have those problems. He can afford the best criminal defense attorneys, to pay for as many hours as counsel can bill and if necessary, to pay for several rounds of appeals. If Vick's attorneys had any credible exculpatory evidence or any way of defeating the prosecution's case, anything that might let Vick keep playing football and out of prison, he would not take a plea.

If you want to play conspiracy theory, Vick's lawyers have every incentive to not advise taking a plea, because they get less money as a result. For that matter, Vick makes a lot of money playing football, but not if he's in prison. That's another incentive to take any chance that might possibly keep him out of prison.

So why Vick plead guilty - it's obvious - because the Feds had him dead to rights.

Now it looks like at least one state will want its turn at M.Vick. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Ajff1YzzqLVYvDJ_xZaC_1dDubYF?slug=ap-vicksfuture&prov=ap&type=lgns

I haven't read through all the posts, so I don't know if this was addressed or not yet. But another reason MV's lawyers would have wanted him to fight the charges would be so they could get him off. A lawyers demand among high profile clients skyrockets if they get one high profile client off the hook. Look at Johnny Cochran. He became a household name after the Simpson trial. If MV's laywers thought they even had a remote chance of winning the case, there is no way they're have recommenewd Vick plea out. They could stand to benefit way too much if they got him off. That tells me that the Feds had him just as Sid said - dead to rights & there was nothing his lawyers could do about it.

no one from the hood i know would beat a dog to death to cull it.......... honestly the stereo types of people from the "hood" or "thugs" is very anoying, there are plenty people in the hood an thugs that do things the right way, while of course there are some doing it the wrong way. Just like texas said none of us where there so we dont really know what really happend im sure the media exagerated ALOT, with as much money as vick has im sure he could an would have found ALOT better methods of culling the dogs.(i think he said that if he didnt mybad).

As for vick i hate the fact that the media is blowing this hole thing out of proportion, i know some one locally that got busted for dog fighting an it was in the newspaper an on the "local" news but thats it only lasted a day or two an that was it, while vick's has been going on for ever now.

Yeah... since dogfighting is illegal in this country, I don't think there is a right way of matching two dogs anymore according to the general public. And since we can say that this person is a public figure who is very famous, he used to play football and was one of the most popular NFL stars for reasons unknown to me, then I don't think the media is blowing anything out of proportion at all.

LOL I bet the Falcons are kicking themselves for trading Matt Schaub to the Teaxans.

If your local council was having a hearing on passing BSL Do you think your original post would shed a positive light on the breed?
Luckily for me, people in my area still realize a dog is simply that A DOG. But since you seem to feel it was so detrimental…what exactly was wrote that would remotely be considered detrimental to the breeds involved in BSL?. My original post was never intended to shed light on anything other than the mentality of a few members of this board and how two faced they are in regards to this breed and those that actually work their dogs. Though I’m sure if those same dogs were square dancing with a senior citizen they’d of loved the hell out of the dogs. If it was prancing around a show ring also would have loved it and Vick. God for bid working dogs actually work and have a standard they must meet.

I realize I don't have a pure gamedog but peaple who don't know any better thinks he is a pitt bull so it is in my and your best interest to try to show him in a positive way. That is why I take him everywhere I go, I walk him 2 miles a day all over town he is highly socialized and most of the peaple who meet him walk away thinking a little bit different about our "vicious" breed. Heck sometimes my cat even walks with us, whigh peaple think is so "cute". When I go somewhere in the truck he is hanging out the passenger window with a big smile on his face.
Maybe instead of being so worried about what breed people believe your dog is. You simply inform them that he’s simply a look-a-like mutt, breed for no purpose. If you walking him all over town in attempts to educate others about a breed you don’t own-you’re part of the problem! Great you show him in a positive light, something everyone should do if in public with their canines. But don’t expect a kudos for doing something that is expected of owners that take on the responsibility of caring for a dog.

My point is these are the things I do EVERY day to fight BSL and put a positive light on the breed. What do you do? Call peaple CURRS, justify electrocuting dogs? That is not putting a positive spin on the breed!
Walking a dog around town is fighting BSL? Give me a freaking break! How can you remotely but a positive light on the breed if you don’t own one, have experience with it, etc? People are curs and it’s clear to see them on this thread alone. After all what negative did Vick do? Testing his dogs, having a standard, maybe culling those that didn’t meet his standard and vision of what an APBT should have been performance wise? I don’t fault the man if he electrocuted his dogs, many cull various ways. Who’s to say his way is better than mine, yours, or anyone else’s? I suppose it would have been better if he and those around him didn’t have a working standard? Would have been better if he was a coward and dumped the dogs off somewhere, left the killing to the humane society, or neutered/spayed the dog and pawned his trash on some pet owner. So they could go all around town telling everyone how great of a pet they are. Please!

I know the history of the dog but here in the U.S it is just that history! things change and either you change with them or you get left behind!!!!
Trouble with that theory is if it was “history”-why is it current news.

I hope I didn't p!ss off to many peaple here I just LOVE my dog and had to respond
Great you love your dog, as well as you should. Difference is I and a few others on this board LOVE THIS BREED, not a lone dog that resembles an APBT. Given my passion for the breed, I as an enthusiast of this breed and working dogs in general am appalled that people could be angered that the man had what appeared to be a standard and culled when it was needed. Many may have done things differently with their culls the bottom line is he was way ahead of most…by having a standard, testing, and culling those that didn’t meet it. Same thing that has been happening since the domestication of animals and continues to this day on race tracks, kennels, ranches, dairy farms, etc. The problem isn’t within those that have such a standard, but in those that don’t have such. Even more problem arises when clueless pet owners are out trying to “educate” the general public on a dog they don’t even have an ounce of experience with. According to you though; it’s okay because you’re doing it in the name of LOVE.

Mainly to Tex, because I respect you very much. I make no judgement on MV for what he did, or did not do because I don't know and I don't trust anything the media or the govt chooses to disclose publically. I have very little faith in our legal system to deliver justice. I think MV is an arrogant fool. I cannot speak to his talents as a dogger. As he became a media ICON, IMHO for the sake of this breed and all that is required to keep the breed true, he should have distanced himself from it. Assuming he loves this breed, he should have made the sacrifice because he was a long standing target...and they got him and all that he stands for. It was not a matter of if, it was when and that is what I find unforgivable about MV.

Lmao! Anybody who knows Idgie knows that she most certainly understands "how it works."

Under conspiracy laws, Vick doesn't stand much of a chance at all by taking this thing to trial. There are three witnesses testifying against him. He's screwed. That's all the evidence the prosecution needs to convict him on these charges. In fact they'd stand a half-decent chance of conviction if they only had one witness. If he doesn't plead, additional charges are filed, including Racketeering. Before it was over, Vick could have been looking at twenty years or more, but even if he only served five after a trial conviction, he still loses his hundred mil. Guilty or innocent, that's one hell of a risk to take. So he takes the plea, serves anywhere from ten months to a year and a half, remains a multi-millionaire, and still has a chance to play football.

That is "how it works." You lose a trial, you're getting the maximum penalty. You better have your shit together before you go that far. Decidedly more trials end in a "guilty" verdict than not. This is especially true in Federal Court. There have been a shocking number of innocents who found themselves on Death Row after taking their cases to trial. It was only recently that Texas decided to suspend its execution schedule after several inmates were found to be innocent of their crimes, but not before they'd already served years waiting to die.

If you ask me, the difference between one year and twenty or more is too significant to take a chance on unless one has indisputable proof of his/her innocence.

Rocco: Enough with that "pet owner" crap. I'm a pet owner but I am quite capable of having a discussion/debate with any gamer on here. I don't cram my belief's down anyone's throat. I can agree to disagree so don't label me please. And just so you know, you CAN be truely for this breed without owning one AND being a pet owner.

[QUOTENO! Given you believe he should have been there 24/7…you must also believe everyone isn’t doing it right. After all many have jobs, have other hobbies, sports they enjoy, etc. Can you name a pet owner that is doing it right, let alone a dogmen? Being you’re typing on a computer, you can’t be with your pet/s supervising them properly-suppose you’re doing it wrong? Sure you’ve stepped out of the house, leaving them behind many times, left to get groceries, etc? Guess all parents are too given they aren’t with their kid/s 24/7. Other than breathing suppose everything we as humans do is wrong given we don’t do it 24/7. As far as the people he allowed to watch over the dogs. Hindsight is always 20/20, don’t believe he or anyone else would have associated and let snitches be in his circle of friends. Is he to really fault for that? Do any of us know how our friends would have responded in the same situation? Nope, only can assume what they’d do or not do and hope we never have to honestly find out.]
Texasbulldogs: I understand what you are saying. I'm at work right now and my dog is home, probably watching TV..hehe...anyways, Michael Vick had 2 guys basically run the sporting thing. These 2 guys were into drugs. All I'm saying is if you are going to do this, make sure the people running it are on the up and up. Look what happened in the Vick case. All because Vick was careless. Yes, i really believe he was careless and didn't know enough to do it right.

I understand why someone must cull a dog. The way they go about doing it, I can't condone. Why can't you either shoot the dog or give the dog a needle?

Oh, i have outrage for that too. These AR people make me sick. They need to mind their own damn business.
