I was gonna ask the same. I hope he,s talkin for working. if so pit#5 I would start with a lighter chain, work him up as he gets stronger.example: if dad sent ya to the river for water every day, even if ya loved the river if the buckets too big n heavy your not gonna want to go.start him light n let him see it as play when young.

I have light chains and i have a hevy one that i use so simple walking in a 20 ft area makes her work a bit she is 4 1/2 months and i was surprised that she did not mind it, I've had the chain for a wile and just used it as a goof , then i see her walking around like , Happy about it or could care less, shes a skinny looking dog a bit hyper in some ways so i am surprised but don't want to harm her , any way i only used it for 15 min.

Pit5, let your puppy be a puppy, soon enough you will be able to work your dog, let the dog develop mentally and physically before any endurance workouts.

imo...people want real bulldogs too soon...i'd wait until a year before any work...all the good ones ive seen were late bloomers

other than that, simple walk and play till then

pit#5 you asked and you got the the answers, please dont take offence which im thinking you will, heavy chain on a four mounth old is basicly cruelty.

im just as concerned on wheather you have a three day a week acid habit, as some of your stuff is informed and sounds like you are experienced while the rest of the time your just plain TRIPPING.

GOOD POST JY... I was wondering about that too. (um the fact that some of the stuff is informed and sometimes you're tripping not about the acid habit.) But yeah Pit#5 don't get mad or offended, cause basically you're a cool dude it's just sometimes you come up with some off the wall shit.

Drop the chain and let her grow up a bit. Honestly, you don't seem to know what you're doing half the time.

on the subect of chain setups , any chain you use for either an axle and a cable run setup ,should be with a chain that is strong but not heavy , always buy the best and lightest chain to do the job , as the dog must feel free when it moves around ,not weighed down by some enormous chain .

HAHA you cant be serious? you want to work a 4 and half month pup with heavy chains, let alone any chains. You must have a yard full of champions.

You shouldn't own a dog, especially an APBT until you have half a brain.

pit#5 has been here a while, but instead of searching and reading-perhaps learning something along the way, they instead post some of the most bizzare things i have ever seen.

Glad to read these replies because my jaw dropped. It would be nice to stick a chain maybe with a boat anchor on my pup to slow him down a bit (kidding) but no I've never heard of working a pup that young. You'll just mess up its joints. These dogs will probably do anything for you, that doesn't mean you should let them or make them. Let your pup be a pup. You can play at spring pole and flirt pole (without jumping-4 feet on the ground).

Yeah, Mags, but remember its only four and a half months so go slow with even the spring pole and flirt pole my girl is six months and I only have her on either for a max of ten min. and if it is ten then I only do it like three times a week. Mostly play fetch and let her run or walk around the yard as she wants to. oh and chase the rabbit in the field behind my house.
