Breed improvement & why even breed?

I was told the true concept of breeding is merely to improve on the breed. As a owner of a good dog I like the dog but was true with my self & reconized the short commings of the dog.
The concept was to clean up the family 1st & then by doing so make a pure family of dogs. Spot short commings of pure family & ad as close to pure differrent strains to ballance out family as a whole.
A good dog may improve but a good dog from a good family with stick better in my own opinion.
The more you are honest with yourself about what you feed ,the less you will get kennel blind & keep a ballanced strain.
What you start with no matter how many generations ,is not as imprtant as how you end with. A good dog is just that . A good dog. Colors & papers don't define actions. Good dogs always speak for themselves.

They always say to reach for the stars so if you come up short you'll still hit the moon.
I believe that what I feed is moree ballance then what I had started with. Who really knows how long that they will want to be apart of the breed? I just say make the most out of the time you do.

 

I breed for one reason only. An that is to make the next litter better then the last. Which should make my family better.
