I'm curious as to her age? If she's as old as I think she is, she's too young to be breeding...she would be only a touch over a year old. But hey, I might be wrong....................

EDIT: However, I'd definitely take her back to Dragon if T allows it. Can't go wrong with that dog.

yeah, me too. Give her a year at least, (i.e.,based on the pub date of the ped)

I agree i would take it to dragon and then cross it out with whatever offspring you keep.

she's about 15 months. she's entering her 2nd heat cycle. her first cycle ended up in a false pregnancy which led to mastitis. i work as a vet tech and when my vet checked her out he advised that i spay her. i told him that i wanted to breed her in the future and he advised that i breed her her second cycle. i'll admit that i am reluctant to do it, due to her age and i want her to completely mature, however, i got the impression that i should breed her in order to avoid or somehow alleviate another possibility of a false pregnancy. still havent decided whether to breed her now or not because im in my last quarter of college and i feel like i won't have the amount of time i would like to tend to her during her pregnancy. basically i really want to avoid another episode of a false preg and i want to keep her intact for future breeding purposes. i also am curious on everyone's opinions as far as studs that would ideally complement her bloodline.

If the dog is that young-dont do it. Dont breed until you are absolutely sure its what you absolutely want. First of all, the dog needs to prove itself worthy of being a good representative of the breed, or else your just another byb'er. I'm sure the Winchesters can give you some good advice...they seem like sensible people. Have you been in contact with them and let them know your plans for this pup since you bought it?

Yeah i agree with u, i have good feelings about this bitch as far as her being worthy for breeding. I have spoken with Tanya a few times, and she is very helpful. individuals who are affiliated with the kennel i got her from seem very knowledgable. do u think my vet's recommendation in breeding her during her second heat is viable, in terms of my intentions of using her as a breeding animal? i confess tho that my gut feeling is not to breed her yet, i really just want to avoid a re-occurance of mastitis and false pregnancies.

  11. She is a fine looking specamin of the apbt. I like her looks. How is her temperment and attitude.

she's the friendliest dog around, been exposed to all types of ppl. i raised her while i was livin in a college house so she got a lot of attention. she's has endless energy and i can tell she's gonna grow to be a ball of fire. im really satisfied with her.

Chan is in California. take her to a heavy Floyd male no matter what the cost. And to wait another year. She was born 12/23/05. Not 12/3/05. Not that a few days makes a difference. guy in Tampa (Fla) who has two of CSP's dogs is selling his Dragon bred pups for $250. They are not so easy to sell when people don't know who the hell you are.

James.... get a male from this breeding and let her age a little more while waiting for your male to mature.

JMO on this and food for thought for you.

She is not fully nature and should not be bred.

Many females have false pregnancies. It can also make the dog more prone to pyometra. If she already has had mastitis. I'd be very reluctant to breed her. Will you be able to bottle feed /hand feed all the pups if that happens when she has pups. If not then I definately say don't chance it

Breeding a dog won't get rid of possible further false pregnacies and some even have trouble conceiving if they have already had issues

Take the time now to sit and list the reasons for and against doing a breeding so young. I think you may change your mind or wait

FYI I am not against breeding and am a breeder with a litter on the way so am going off experience. I'm not saying the above to give you a hard time just to help

Good luck with your gal. She is a nice looking Pup
