TRUTH Series-Its not the breed, its how you raise them myth

The term "It's not the breed it's how you raise them" has a range meanings and depends on who says it and from what perspective.
I've used the term myself in the past, it's not about breeding the fight out of the breed but having a socially acceptable dog. I don't want to be walking some raving lunatic of a dog that's screaming to get at every other dog on the street, it's embarrassing and draws the wrong sort of attention that I and ultimately my dogs don't want or need.
To curb their natural desires in public later in life. I take all my pup's to see and interact with pup's and dogs of other breeds. The more they're socialised at a young age the less inclined they are to be an embarrassment in public after they turn on. There's a time and place for the dogs to display what they're bred for and a public street/park is not that place.

^^ You ever think about how many times you'd be "embarrassed" or "drawing the wrong attention" if you decided to go to the park or public street when there are little to no animals around? Now that is the best situation. IMO.

Please explain further, "the more they are socialized the less inclined they are an embarrassment in public after they turn on" how so?

Again you keep on repeating the same shit ... A.R. activist believe that the reason why are dogs a aggressive is because of its up bringing and thats what THEY believe......I never said I believe that , its what they believe. You must not have been around long enough if you've never heard the term its not the breed its how you raise them and how A.R. activist view and use that term to falsely incriminate our breed even further by making us out to be abusive owners. It struck a nerve with people because YOU are WRONG on this topic and you are TRYING to twist the TRUTH ursaminor thats why no true dogman would back up your dumb ass opinion.
Oh which members do you respect? A old Timer on this forum told me in chat "GOOD POST", on this topic and lots of other did as well......Did anyone tell you good post on this topic yet? LMAO If almost everyone is against you wouldnt you start to think that maybe its you who is wrong and not everyone else? LMAOROTF.

Good point, Treez, and to boot, I can't understand anyone letting their dog do their thinking for them. Those decisions as to the best times and places should be meted out by YOU.

I also get the feeling blueboy doesn't totally grasp the OP's original meaning about the phrase in question, nor his comments on down from there. I won't speak for him, but I think it's clear that he means the phrase to be specifically wrong as it applies to these dogs, solely. If one thinks it can behavior modify and do it safely, for the length of a bulldog's life, and have it supersede a couple of hundred years of intense genetic focus, they are fooling themselves. Common sense says that's simply just errant thought and wishful sentiment.

When did common logic and knowledge of the given gene flow of our dogs become yielding to the ignoring of such? That, to me, is absolutely dumbfounding. Perhaps you can apply this tactic to dogs which are not intensely bred to one main focus because they have no main, intense focus to deter them from such manipulation. But not the seriously bred bulldog. That's just without proper knowledge of these dogs and is faulty to a dangerous degree. Sometimes responsible ownership of these dogs requires one to know what he or she has, with knowledge and understanding of them, and provide activities which if in err, err on the side of caution.

There are lots of terms that can have a range of different meanings and perspectives BUT MY TOPIC was clearly stated towards ALL the A.R. activist groups like PETA, HSUS , and ASPCA etc....although not all of the A.R. activist will have the same perspective majority of them do see it that way and use there perspectives to influence the general population in believing what they want them to believe hence why I made this topic to expose the TRUTH.

Your second statement seems like a contradiction, you want to have a socially acceptable FIGHTING dog? LMAO

Just walking your dog in public especially in areas with a lot of people and pets will draw attention to yourself lol.

So your saying if you socialize your pups they are less inclined to be a embarressment in public after they TURN ON????? Most people with a APBT dont care about the "embarrasement", what they are very concerned about is the ACCIDENTS that could happen with having severe consequences for both you and your dog legally.

You say there is a time and place for the dogs to display BUT what you dont realize is that the dog WILL display it if the opportunity arises and presents itself no matter WHERE you ARE. The more places you visit, just increases those chances of (ACCIDENTS) displays wether you meant for it to happen or not.

Exactly what I mean by letting your dog do your thinking for you. I don't know why this is so hard to understand for some unless they are contrary enough to just not want to see the truth. SMFH

I think y'all misunderstood blueboys post.while I can't speak for him I think he's saying he socializes as pups so as adults they not as incline to make a scene every time he walks by another dog.I don't think he's saying he lets them or expects them to play/get along with other dogs.

Ruby got to play with plenty of other dogs as a puppy. Right up until she went after one that tried to "say hi" while we were on a walk. From then on she's only had people as friends. Poor girl. I can tell she misses other dogs by the way she tries really, really, hard to "say hi" whenever she sees one.

Seriously though, some dogs can not be made "socially acceptable", let alone cool with other dogs. I walk at night and change my route if someone else is walking a dog. If you're embarrassed by your dog's behavior don't put yourself and your dog in potentially "embarrassing" situations.

A steady diet of gunpowder and kittens, along with the judicious use of a cattle prod, will make a fighter out of any dog. Poor dogs. lol

I think I fully understood what blueboy was saying. I just don't deem it a workable scenario or method. I also think the logic is off. These dogs are not in a position to do your thinking FOR you. It's best to use your head as to situational likelihoods. Modify your common sense approaches and not the dog, or get a dog not bred to do what these are bred to do in the first place.

Sometimes you have to hose the prior planted shit out of your head before you can understand what is real and right.

Very true. The longer someone believes the prior planted shit as truth, the harder it becomes to hose out. I hear it get's kinda goopy and likes to stick.
