I'm not saying you can't do it, I'm saying I would not do it simply for the fact staples leave a very noticeable scar more times than not. The tissue around the face area is thin, and in most cases can be glued which minimizes scaring and doesn't add more trauma to the surrounding tissue. Both will close a wound but one adds even more to the scars since your puncturing the surrounding skin making the ever so noticeable zipper marks. Staples are better suited for more gaping type wounds that are in meatier parts of the body, stifles, areas like that. Sutures too add more visual scaring in most cases but there are some really small diameter sutures out there with plastic surgery so popular these days as well as even more precise procedures like eye surgeries and such. Those types of suture isn't easily available in most cases. All will close a wound but all have a specific purpose.

Also, SOULDOG is correct about the puncture wounds.

I have been using promogran for along time. Most people don't know about it. It manages the wounds microenvironment and makes the best environment for cellular growth. Its a great product and I hope I helped some people here with wound management.

Yeah, I bought vetericyn a few days after the incident and I will always use that product. It promoted growth and I noticed a huge difference in a few days. The dog healed and is doing great now, thanks for the good info AGK, souldog, and old goat.
