Abby fits this conversation though cause most would call her a hard mouth cur cause she crunch u but it was all defensive you goto scratch her and as soon as you let her go she would look up at you and wag her tail and jump up and down like it was all a game she wouldnt scratch but she didnt act like she was quittin weird bitch lol but i always concidered her to be cold and she wasnt off paz jr:

If a dog quits with the ability to go on, then its a cur. If a dogs body will not let it continue and it tries with everything it has to continue...GAME!

....For what it is worth...Sometimes it is hard to lable a good dog a cur...I would call a dog a cur if it ran across and connected every time but the last... knowing it was on top.... Now every dog has a stopping point...but if its on top and stops then why? Now if the bottom dog is staying with it and you pick it up then it might have to see another day....and maybe the same dog...we all learn from mistakes. We all have a heart and sooner or later it will stop. Just have a better dog or know when to pick up before its too late. Shock can stop it all. Bullyson.

The way I see it no one can tell you what a cur is the only way to know for sure is to see a truly game dog showing. what it means. to be game,

Once you see that yo won't have to ask what the definition of a cur is. And don't be mistaken a dog can prove game in 10 mins if his life is on the line....... I'm just saying

The funniest thing I ever read was an interviewer was asking a dogman a question(people will know his name ,but I don't want to put it out there for obvious reasons) about Oso Negro standing the line ,was Oso in shock (dogman) no he was fine.Maurice was the one in shock.

Yes certainly someone is mistaken here. Just because the handler created such a mismatch being it through matching the wrong dog, or testing the dog with a far superior animal....that it recieved such punishment in short order...does not mean it showed game in 10 minutes. It got its ass kicked too quick to show you anything. It had no chance to impose, or try to impose its will to dominate on the other dog. It had no chance to do anything. I hate to put time limits on such a thing cuz there just isn't one...but the fact of the matter is gameness is an enduring event and 10 minutes is not enduring anything. I know your "just saying" but if u think u saw gameness in 10 minutes...you may want to reconsider what your definition is or what u really saw.

your out your mind griznmav. there's plenty of short times sent in by lots of class folks & dogs. then you read about the curt scratch sometimes to prove game. LMFAO so i guess they had to lay around ear sucking for 3 to be "game". so them dogs that went 16 hours must of been the G.O.A.T because thet "endured".

Out my mind? Naw, just got standards that aren't satisfied by cheap 10 minute thrills. I guess I know why there's so many raggedy pieces of shit around now though lol.

So if a dog gets one or two of his front legs destroyed, bleeder popped and all within 10min and still scratching is a cur?

  17. AGK

AGK Super duper pooper scooper Administrator

    No, because he's still scratching.

I wouldn't cal him game either. Problem is most folks don't have a bar that has been set and don't feel the need to set a bar. THIS is my standard and I want to see THIS standard from here on out I'm every dog I have or I am back tracking. When u hear about what dog like sandman endured, sure he quit, but he is in the 99.9th percentile of cues I guess you'd say. Saw WAY more than most "game dogs" have seen. If 10 minutes is all you need to see or if you believe what "classy folks" enter into some magazine good for you. Those dogs would be in the lowest percentile of curs or game dogs. Folks forget we set up scenarios for these dogs...if that 10 minute scenario happened in a match, you brought a shitty dog to match n set your dog up to fail. If it happened in a roll once again u set the dog up to fail. There is a progression that should be followed to see what your dog has to push it to all its limits. If it gets broken down in 10 minutes sure it got some severe physical damage but has little to no mental or physical exhaustion. You've left a lot of room there for that dog to be a cur. You'll never know if a dog is truly game until it takes its own life in the act. So as handlers you should push it to all extremes so that u are satisfied that there is almost no grey area left for it to explore. If 10 minute scenarios is what ur creating, you've failed as a handler/manager.

I thought being game was continuing to do battle regardless of ones physical state

And if you believe that a dog can't be brought to deaths door in as little as ten mins then you haven't seen enough

the one thing you said that was true is that maybe. the dog was out matched which could be the case more than likely is the case

would you not pick him up if you see that there's just no way to recover from the damage done then give him a chance to prove that he still wants more then you don't know jack about a game dog
