I think you hit the nail on the head with that one. no matter the color its the money that is the problem. People are greedy by nature, and only care about personal gain, and the all mighty dollar.

Insane_knls i would still like to see a couple pics of your blue dogs. Just to compare between what is acceptible and what is not...

Well, I am putting the shields up as I type, as I know the poop will fly, but I actually bought two "test" dogs. One is a Gotti blue female, and the other is her daughter, Gotti/RE. Now, I did not pay no 3000 bucks or even 100 for them, but I did buy them. If these two are any kind of represtation of these lines(which I really feel like I pulled them out of the twilight zone, as they do not act, nor do they look like the ones I have seen pictures of) well, the 2 yr old Gotti female weighs 53lbs. She is not at all lazy, works the chain like crazy, and loves the flirt pole. She is nothing like is described in these threads of what she should be. Her daughter is not out of standard either, though she is not grown, she is still 'bout like any other bulldog at her age. She has already turned on, and I cannot have her and my alligator dog with each other or it turns into a bloody mess. Now, Alligator dont get along with any dog, I must say that. She hasnt jumped any other dog, but once she gets lit, it's on. If you saw them, and I had them dyed another color, you would stand there beside them and talk all kinds of crap about them RE/Gotti dogs, and turn around and say, those are two fine looking bulldogs.
Now, I have seen them pictures of them big bulldogs, and personally have never laid my eyes upon one. I have one dog, who is not of this blood line, but when he is grown will be the biggest bulldog I have ever seen. He'll probably weigh 65# when grown, and that is too big for me. I got him in hopes of him being a stud, but probably wont breed him, unless he stops growing, as I just dont believe in breeding out of standard. But these two dogs look nothing like the pictures I see. I have often wondered if the pictures are stretched to look like that, and I believe they are. I repeat, I have never even seen a 70# APBT. Never. So my mind just cant go there.
BTW, pictures of the two dogs I am speaking of are in my gallery if you care to look. They were taken right after I got them.

  4. Alright the pics have been approved and are in my gallery...All my dogs are the same lineage so even though some may not be blue they are from strong blue decent...Please take a look and give me your thoughts

Purplepig, dont you think your "test" would of been a bit better suited, had you used two dogs that werent relatives, and werent freak occurances (for that/those lines)?

I am with you. Could you imagine if some knuckleheads came along and tried to revamp the Thoroughbred or American Quarter Horse confirmations, screwed around with shotty genetic mismatching (calling it selective breeding of course) and produced animals that were a disgrace to all the heritage and fine training and breeding the horses were known and admired for, and these creatures were then allowed to be bred into the original horses' sacred bloodlines and registered? Ugh.

Coca Cola damn near flubbed an empire when they came out with "New Coke" in the 80's after "improving the formula". I'm sure some new wave hot shot executive in the company thought he could outdo the old timers, but failed miserably. That stuff was gross, and Coca Cola "classic" was soon reinstated. The lesson? Don't screw with a perfected and finished product.

Yea, and if my pocket book were deeper, I would have got the test dogs straight off the yard of ...oh what's his name, the RE guy. I did make sure that at least on paper the dogs were not scatterbred too much. I have met several folks, one in the town I live, who is breeding a RE dog to a neopolitan mastiff!! So,... I just jewed a good price on the two, actually the pup first, and then got mama for allot less. The pup had the famous RE/Gotti lines, and mama was a gotti/monster G.

But to answer your question, it would have been BEST to get them from the horses mouth, so to speak. I just cant imagine a bulldog(pit) weighing no 100+pounds. My mind cannot go there! When I try and make it go there, smoke begins boiling out of both ears!! It is easier for me to concieve of folks doctoring photos, misreading scales, etc than the other. I have seen many folks say, "The dog weighs 80#'s", and when put on scales, weighs 45#'s. Have you ever seen one that weighed that much? And I do hope that these are freaks from the bloodline, that way all the folks whom I have come to like would be right. Cause I dont believe no dog that weighs 100+ is a fullblooded bulldog!!! Had a guy saw Baby Girl in the back of my truck one day try and talk me into breeding her to his "pureblood Wallace" bulldog, oh, that weighed 130#'s!! I said, I sont want to breed to nothin like that, but I would like to just put my eyes on it. I like the smaller bulldogs. There is something special about them. But I havent found reason to take either one of these outback and use the Ruger 22 on. And I have culled 2 since I got them.

someone who breeds two BULLDOGS could care less what colors come out, if a blue one pops out, then they'll have one on their yard. Nobody I've personally known in these dogs has had one come out yet.

I've heard of a few but havent seen one or known anyone thats actually had one drop

thats one of the problems, these breeders who have yards full of blue dogs are obviously breeding for color, this is fact.

Breeding for color is something anyone who cares about the history of this breed should be against.

Texas Pit Dog Could you explain what the difference between a Bulldog and Re/Gotti blue dogs. Cause I see this term used loosely.

Purple Pig-- RE has admitted that his dogs are not APBT's but is now calling them American Bully Breeds.

People have. His name is "Impressive", LOL. Plagued with desiese and overdone, bulky muscles on tiny legs. Not to mention more than half Thoroughbred but being called a QH. Sounds a little like the dogs, doesn't it. Impressive is the horse equivelent of 'PR' Notorious Juan Gotti.

Impressive was wearing on my mind a bit when I posted that- I knew he was the HYPP nightmare and awfully overdone- but I had no idea any bloodlines were crossed that weren't quarter horse. Damn it man. So there, perfect case in point. I never liked those bulky halter horses- gimme a good cow horse with a Play Gun bloodline to show 'em what's what.:D

Yeah it's true they are puttngout a potition- Dave Wilson actually just had a VERY positive event for the APBT. It was in a stadiium I was there and was impressed with how we really changed ppl's minds 2400 ppl were there as walk ins and at least 30-50 cops/asnimal control gang task force- basically the city did everything it could stop this event but they couldn't there were models and famous rappers the city would not let the rappers perform. I personally saw the police getting interested in the dogs in a NONE negative or biased way. I don't got no evidence of mixing the dogs but I know Dave Wilson and the other investors in this event LOST OVER $10,000 NO PROFIT IT WAS FOR THE PITS!!!!!!

It was nice even had some rescues and game dogs there.

Nothing more sound out there than a good cow horse. Hollywood Bill and Poco Bueno horses are also some good rides. Ya know what is so damn weird? These Western Pleasure/halter happy folks will brag when Impressive is all over both sides of their horses' ped! I've never seen a ped that went back any further than Impressive, and that cross breeding that recently in my eyes compromises the whole damn AQHA. These folks get lucky enough to have an N/N mare or stud bred like that, bulk em out so they look like freaks of nature, slap a sterling silver plated halter on 'em and you got a doggone $30,000 + animal who can't do squat but push peanuts with their nose in the dirt. Ironic: with Man O' War in their blood no less!!!

No matter what the animal there will be those who think they can improve it. Since there isn't a perfect animal there is always room for improvement. Most of these experiments do not work out. Even those that start out good may in time do a lot of damage to the bloodline. Sometimes these experiments will go in a complete different direction that the original animal.

Then there is the case of the famous and successful match dog that was out of a cross of the pit bull and boston terrier. Everyone who has that dog in their bloodline are very proud of that fact. Then again not very many people know of the exact breeding.

Wow i never heard of that one, can u elaborate about that match dog that was a cross, i'm very interested in learning about that

Just as there are not any perfect people. And most are cross bred into other lines as well. Many that don't have a clue to as their breeding or history. I tell you what it would really do wonders for the population if we culled human mutts woudn't it?
