Me, I'm poor so $300 would be the most I would pay for a pup.........But the shittiest thing is that there aren't really any good breeders here in Kentucky.....So there would also be the shipping and shit that would turn a $300 dog into a $500 dog...

THE PROBLEMS I SEE -- I think you are forgetting to mention..
    1. The same "pups" that are for sale one day for $1200 can be found on the internet a few short months later for $300 to $600. They have another litter and need room or the freaking puppies are 5 months old with NO home and then they want to get rid of them. WHY SO MUCH CHEAPER, huh? If they were "worth" 1200 born they should be worth that in 5 months. Then these people think that only THEY have the right to breed their females 2 times a year because they compete in shows and are doing no wrong by the breed?? BULLSHIT
I don't think $$ makes the dog and that is a sad misunderstanding. I think it all boils to what the dog is worth to YOU.

I see it all the time and it burns my ass! I in no way shape or form condone BYB's and it makes me sick when people are breeding SO many dogs that they will have litter after litter for sale on the freaking internet.

do you think location has any determination on prices for dogs?

Yeah I think it has a lot to do with location. Here pups don't really sell fast unless they're in the $50-$150 range. Just down the way in the bay area I see unpapered pits going for $250-$350,and even in Sacramento the same prices.
