Saw one (OFRN) years ago.Rough cur.Other than that I have no experience with them,I wouldn't feed one if it was given too me.I like RBJBT and Eli/Snooty dogs.I respect other lines like Jeep/Red Boy/Rascal or Turtlebuster (That Smoking Joe and Plow Boy Willie Blood),Boyles,Carver etc because I know they produce fast lane Bulldogs. But OFRN I just wouldn't want any of that in any dog I own.

No I would consider it a Tombstone/Bolio Carver cross.Everyone knows that at one point OFRN was a good line and you can find those dogs way back in the pedigrees of fast lane dogs. But it's like Colby. That current pure Colby stuff isn't the same as the old school dogs.

Im not in the ofrn club to really know the ins and outs,,,
but dibo and those dogs might go back to some ofrn blood,,,
they might retain some of the gameness the dogs were once known for,,,
but as a whole,,, they lost the ofrn traits and are watered down away from that blood to be,,,
dibo dogs,,, tombstone dogs,,, jocko dogs etc...
the ofrn of today are red and thats about it,,,
after bashing the gambler dog I come to find out the blood is there,,,
but as a cross and not pure as some would like,,,
mr bill and bad mother liked the gambler crosses and I cant knock their expertise...

I believe you can produce game dogs from OFRN,Amstaffs or even English Bull Terriers every now and then especially if you cross it with "game"blood. But the consistency of it producing compared to a dog with a pedigree full of roms and winners can't compare.

Yes it can and does. Just because ones pedigree is chocked full of roms and winners doesn't matter where it counts .. percentave wise looks good but a bulldog is a bulldog.

Thier was a time when every one was breeding to the OFRN.Its more so in some bloodlines than others.

I would like to believe that also CRAZYhorse,,,
But with all those fancy colors and numbers,,,
If any of those dogs are true,,,
Im sure none of those dogs beat any real comp...

If so please share a known dogman or dog that lost
to one of those fancy pure hemphill named dogs...

Just as the pure BST Jersey blood,,,,
that J set up to inbreed on for twenty years,,,
    and still producing,,, crickets...

Soul dog, Not sure with that much black widow and shine in it. When I think of OFRN I picture a RED dog with Amber eyes.
tall and lean probably with cropped ears. I'm stuck on the east coast, so to me, RED Jacket has the Typical
Phenotype of an OFRN to "me." as far as pet quality goes, I 'm not sure. I had a RED nose once who was fine,
as long as no other dogs were around. My friend had one outta MLP (magic line pits) who was a hard to handle as a
"pet." Like others have posted, dogs like people are individuals. My brother drives like
Miss Diasey, I had 10 points on my license by 18. Speeding, speeding, driving on the shoulder, and disregard of stop sign.
We had the same mother and father and upbringing. I run hot....he walks!

The best looking Red Jacket dog I've seen looks like some of the uglier Morgan dog's and that bitch doesn't look like their other dogs. I am a Morgan fan so that is one hell of a compliment to the Red Jacket dogs, other than that I would say I don't like what I see. As to the original question of this thread, no, OFRN is not good for a pet. You might get a lazy easy going one, but you might also get that off of a breeding of two top competing dogs. I've been around OFRN blood since I was young. My mom waited years for one, and that was my first APBT at 8 years old. She was the best people dog you could ever meet, and she wasn't fight crazy, she tolerated other bitches of ours for short periods of time and got along with our males. However, one day she somehow ended up in our neighbors garage. She was about 35lbs, and she killed a dog over twice her size. My parents hurried up and got her out of the state. But after going through court, she was deemed a dangerous dog. We moved hours away and eventually I got my girl back. This is a terrible story for our breed, and now that I'm an adult and have my own dogs I refuse to ever let something like this happen. As a kid I didn't realize the severity of it, but now I think to myself why the hell weren't our dogs housed properly to prevent this? Trust me our dogs didn't run free, we had lots of fenced in yards, but that fence was tested by the dogs, and this happened when we weren't home. So trust me, OFRN is not suitable for a pet unless you are willing to go the extra mile when that dog turns out to be what it was meant to be.
