I got a question concerning red nose dogs and genetics, hope it's the best place to ask it.

Are there coat colors that are typical to red nose dogs? Or asked differently so I'm sure to be understood :) are there coat colors that only go hand in hand with a red nose? I'm thinking of some deep reds, or liver. dogs like ch missy for example http://www.pitbull-history.com/gallery/missy(1).jpg

Red is red it comes in different shades and with different markings ... A red nose is just the color of a dogs nose. That dog you posted is red just a darker shade of red with white markings some call that chocolate I just call it red.

Not discussing the fact red nose is just the color of the nose and doesn't mean anything.
You didn't answer my question btw. edit : or I didn't get it (english isn't my native language)

Your question doesn't make any sense lol no offense you asked are there coat colors that are typical to red nose dogs WTH is that suppose to mean exactly? Are you asking what colors a red dog will produce when bred to another dog that is not red? Two red nose dogs will only produce red nose dogs unless the red nose dog is bred to a dog that is not a red nose if that is the case it can throw any color if that color exists within the gene pools.

Ima rephrase it. Maybe my question wasn't really understandable.

Are there colors that are only linked to a red nose? are there colors that mean the dog necessarily has a red nose?

edit : example : can a liver dog have a black nose?

And no liver dogs can't have black noses because liver is a diluted gene the nose would be liver or a pink color liver is basically brown.

you're welcome there are red dogs with black noses that is possible but genetically speaking two red red nosed dogs will only produce red red nosed dogs when bred. I just want to make that clear because we have red dogs with black noses.

Just for example take the two dogs in my avatar if bred they would only produce offspring with red coats and red noses the offspring could be any shade of red dark or light and may have some white markings but both of these dogs since they are red with red noses would only be able to produce the same. Now if one of those dogs in my avatar had a black nose then those same two dogs if bred could produce both red nosed dogs and red dogs with black noses and any other color that exists within their gene pools and whatever recessive genes both dogs are carriers of other colors could be possible.

  12. Sadie the coat part isn't exactly true. While the probability of them producing red dogs is high, it is not impossible for them to produce different colored costs.
