Have any of you injured your dogs back using the fiirt pole? Is it a common or rare occurance? At what age did you start him on one?

I started my dog Angus on a flirt pole at 6 months of age. He has been doing it ever since and he's 7 now. He's pulled some crazy stunts but never had a back injury or any other serious injury from it. The only minor injury I can think of was that his dewclaw nail got ripped off a couple of times.

If u use common sense and keep it low, don't get the dog jumping up in the air.You should be ok.It really puts one in shape and works the fast twitch muscles and flexibility.Plus dogs love it.Just use common sense.

i start when they are very yard just to help build their drive. Just use common sense like what was stated before, its good for coordinator, stamina, and agility. On top of that the dogs love it, its the handlers responsibility to flirt responsibly ;)
