There are many red nose winners but it's not the color of a dogs nose that wins a fight. I wouldn't put much into that red-nose/blue-nose/black-nose stuff. Geneticly speaking it's just pigment. The color of ones hair would have nothing to do with winning a fight so why would the color of the nose matter?

In addition to the ones mentioned above there are also...

    CH Hollingsworth's Pinky 4xw
    Black River's Dempsey 1xw
    CH Boiler
    CH Crenshaw's Gator ROM 4xw
    CH Delta Force's Stallone
    GR CH C.K. Damiano's Mario 5xw
GR CH Evolution Kennel's Machobuck 5xw
GR CH Strickly Buisiness' Buster Brown
    Zinetti's Mr. Redbull 1xw

Who knows. But also consider this, why are there hardly any solid white winners or reverse brindle winners? A lot of them are black-nosed but there are probably more black-nosed dogs too. If you were to breed a black-nosed dog to a red-nosed bitch you'd get mostly black-nosed pups because black is the dominant gene. Like I said before, I don't know for sure why there are more black-nosed winners but that's my theory. ;)

I wouldn't say there haven't been any brindle winners (Going Light Barney anyone?) & as for the solid white, well,.....................

Anyways, the main reason you do NOT see solid white & reverse brindle (as you call it but brindle is brindle is brindle) are colors that people specifically breed for to sell & we all know what happens to a breed when you start breeding for color along--you lose all working ability aka function.

Back in the 20s and earlier there were quite a few solid white winners. There are lots of brindle winners but not many reverse brindle winners. Reverse brindle is brindle with the dilute gene and not all that uncommon. I've never seen a kennel say they breed for reverse brindles before. Tom Garner had a litter earlier this year with one. It was by Biscuit (brindle) and out of a buckskin bitch. Obviously game bred all I'm saying is that you don't see that color winning very often if at all. (I can't think of one.)

When I said "well......" to the solid white winners, I more or less meant for people to do there on research & find out. I'm not into spreading names all over the internet (I did not imply that one didn't exist).

However, the term "reverse brindle" is a lovely byb term. Brindles are brindles no matter if they are reverse, straightforward, or upside down.

  15. For example TUDORS WHITE ROCK was a great one. He looks like the backbone of the Dogo Argentino and he lived in that time wen the Dogo as a bred were created....and he was stolen and never seen...hmmm...

*sigh* Why do you have to be so snide Mia? I respect you & you have a ton of great info, but here lately you are have been as ill-tempered to ppl as an ole sore tail cat.

"Reverse brindle" is simply a term used to differenciate one type of brindle from another. It is just like saying "black brindle" or "red brindle."

A reverse brindle is a light colored dog w/ blue stripes. It is called a "reverse" brindle (or more accurate reverse blue brindle) b/c a true blue brindle is a blue dog w/ light stripes, while a reverse blue brindle is just the opposite - a light dog w/ blue stripes. Hense the name reverse blue brindle.

As for reverse blue brindle winners, there was Blu Rowdy (1xw) & Lowcountry's Fancy (4xw). In whites there was CH. Casper, CH. Bronco & CH. Harvey Wallbanger.

It's true there arent many out there, but I think that may have to do w/ the fact that compared to other colors there aren't as many reverse blue brindles or whites out there either.

I'm not offended by any means. I'm just on a kick where I think we should refer to our dogs & their colors in the proper way & not use the byb peddling terms. I had never heard the term "reverse brindle" before 1999 & the dogs mentioned that are "reverse brindles", well, I have never read or heard them described as such before these recent years. Before that, they were described in color terms as they should.
