I think everyone now knows Red Boy isn't from the Colby dogs.
He is heavy in Creed stock from decentends of Red Devil

yup ^^^ great example.... that looks like an old school colby [] dog doesnt it.. Technically Red Devil is founed in colby too. Dogs like Panama Fly were PURE colby and so the blocks that built him had PURE colby DNA as much as any other if not more as he is made up of nebbletts down from pure colby and armitage pure colby, clark pure colby..
. People don't like that but under the same clause you have people who claim to be 1/64 Native American/American Indian and get priviledges as if they harbored the genes to be considered "indian". Because you can't beat Old and more pure DNA its there and the programming is there even if you think its washed.

Just like the example Dutchy showed you up there, the dogs are so linebred that the Colby is pushed to the surface and we see a colby dog; with redboy he was shaped like a colby dog and although a red nose he was that type of red nose that looks near black, I know I have a dog like that, whos nose is redish/pink but from far away it looks black. So Redboy is built like a Colby dog with the color of OF/OFRN dogs as he was 3/4 colby the 1/4 OF/OFRN was pushed to the surface :)

^^ I was going to mention white head as well but its from the same female... http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=offspring&dog_id=29228

Croata heavy Black Magic on top.. Black magic is patric/heinzl/loposay and the two are mostly Colby and with OF dogs like cottons bullet... Its safe to say he has colby type dogs in his foundation the 7gen as Heinzl and Loposay was built of game colby dogs.

eewwwWWEEE! I skimmed over that earlier this year and was dang near drooling...
...a Colby bred dog by the name of Red dog is where clifford comes from ... big red dog ... politics changes every APBT bulldog hero into another breed on tv. Ol Yeller, Underdog, Snoopy, Droopy, Clifford, the list goes on... Thanks for posting that great reminder !

I don't think at this point it really matters how Redboy or other historical dogs were bred. Truthfully Colby dogs are a good family of dogs it all depends on the needs of the individual owner. No for sake of conversation if I were to take a pure Colby gyp to my Carver x Eli male the results could be thru the roof. Yis Ole Man

i didnt, redboy/bolio/carver... but the top side is predominately redboy if you go back. but who has redboy in first 4 much anymore? he was alive in the 60s so what the heck does it matter that it was a colby dog anyways?

Theres a badass little deacon/tab x colby bitch walking around up north. I don't mess with the stuff at all but when it works it works I guess.

because your passing on dna .. dna is dna or ... blood is blood (olden terms) ... So your passing on game colby dna ... those who breed on the dog have stacked that redboy so tight well... to beg the question what does it matter that it was a colby dog anyways?...

Everytime we're having a nice discussion on colby dogs someone always comes up with nay saying displaying a lack of knowledge and well what are we intellectuals for if not knowledge? Its important for people to remember the best of the best come down with full colby blocks, foundations, or pedigrees.. Whatever you got lined up real tight always goes well with foundation blood that colby has in itself more pure than any other strain.

what's important us what's up close, i could not possible care less what's in the 20th generation. if you breed a bunch of subpar dogs because they are down from pure colby thinking stacking dogs back in the pedigree is gonna make good dogs you are sadly mistaken. the sire is passing on his genetics

  18. Foundation

    Foundation Big Dog

This is why two native americans can be together and their children be blonde and blue eyed because someone way back in their 15th generation was a fence hopper .. you are sadly mistaken if you think I do not understand genetics and breeding. PURE colby is PURE COLBY the whole block of redboy everytime you see his name might as well say 3/4 pure Colby. Thats all the way up close. Look thats just what Loposay and Nebbletts both did, breed super dogs, took the best of the colby and inbred it line bred it all together using a straight colby or OF or OFRN out and a good source of those lightner dogs are founded in the same paddy stock which is why Heinzl, Colby, and Lightener used each other as outs it was the same stuff and they knew it; it was just bred to another mans liking. So with that line you can tell them late old men that it doesnt work.

Why do you think from certain tribes to horses, to cattle, to dogs etc there are those that will allow no tainting of the blood? Those also have some essence about them no other member of their species has accomanpied with purity of strain ..

You have those who breed winner to winner and only focus on the first 2-4 generations and wonder and wrongly attribute recessive traits that pop up. BECAUSE they don't look past their hand infront of their face. Mentality is inherited through the mother; at least being sound or unbalanced is. DNA characteristics of the mind are more vast than all the stars in the universe LOL don't presume to chisel in stone a slippery slope like that. Opinions vary and to each his own however I follow the breeding patters of those 3 mentioned the all time great breeders they were.. You can follow another style of breeding but you cannot ignore any part of genetic code within a 7 generation tree or pedigree, without fooling yourself.

You are talking about pure colby dogs and redboy as an individual. Redboy isn't producing anything anymore, if you want legit dogs you need to be more concerned with what's in gen 1 and 2 rather than what's in 15 and 16. Maybe you care about a blonde haired baby randomly popping up but the WORKING TRAITS that this breed are known for a easy to lose and need to be checked for every generation. Now if you are breeding for dogs that LOOK like the old colby dogs than I apology, you are 100 percentage correct but other than that your breeding pedigrees and not bulldogs. 4 generations of junk is junk, you can stack redboy or whatever other dogs you want 8 generations back.

  20. Dream Pits

That type of thinking is why so many lines are considered "watered down". Like I have said 10p times there are some very nice colby crosses out there, there comes a time when every line needs one to stay relevent.
