Calling all computer gurus....

    i have a weird problem. i can hear through my speakers with youtube and most other sites. but when i put a dvd in the computer i cant hear shit. and it plays with captions....but no sound? both media players i have tried do this. interactual and windows media player....


    any advice on the problem?

    Do you know if you have the option to change settings in windows from captions to speakers on? Kinda like when you set your tv on captions to check in start menu the in accessories and the in entertainment click on volume control. Check and see if you CD volume is on and up!:o
