How often in a year do you deworm your dogs? I do my dogs 2 to 3 times a year.

From my understanding the common types here are Roundworms, Whipworms, hookworms, tapeworms, and Heartworms. I give my dogs Drontal Plus twice a year, and I give them Heartguard monthly. I also have their annuals done once a year.

The major dewormings generally all go by the keep of your dogs.Mostly inside dogs usually don't need treatment as often as dogs that are kept on the ground. It also depends on where your dog travels also.Heartworm prevention is needed monthly.I also worm my dogs monthly with the preventative for extra measures.I use ivermec for the heartworms and fenbendazole(Panacur/Safeguard) for intestinal parasites.Every so often I'll do an out of Strongid(pyrantel pamoate).

I worm 4,6,8, and 10 weeks, then every three months. Mid spring through mid fall, my dogs get a monthly heartworm preventative. It's a little different when I'm in the south - they get a monthly dose of everything.
