Hopefully no one minds me posting this here! I am the one who rescued this puppy when he was just 7 weeks old. Tossed from a car window, in renal failure, anemic, and scared of the world. I nursed him back to health, and he was adopted by my good friend, and loved by everyone who knew him, including my vet and the staff who adored him. He was even preparing for his CGC certification. I still have my old photo's of that tiny scared puppy that he once was. Now he's missing, and tons of people spanning two states are in shock and sorrow because of his dissapearance.

So if you live in Mississippi, please keep an eye out!

I posted the ad on Craigslist, in every section of Mississippi and Louisiana. I put terrier mix, but yes, he is a pit bull mix. Here's the link to one of the ads, which includes the only photo she has of him at the moment that she can get to me. Below is how the ad reads.

URGENT -- LOST DOG!

My friend was in a car accident on Monday, March 9, 2009. A tire blew out, flipping her vehicle 4 times. Her dog jumped from the truck after the wreck, and took off into the woods. He is still missing, and he is being searched for desperately.
He is a 10 month old terrier mix, weighing between 35 and 40 pounds. He is mostly white, with brown colored spots. He has one brown patch over his right eye and ear. His name is "Memphis". He LOVES people, and can be approached by anyone who spots him!

The wreck happened in Hazelhurst, MS, just before getting into Crystal Springs, on Highway 55. She was heading north, and the wreck happened on mile marker 70.

If you see him, or have found him, please call 1-225-485-6378. There is a REWARD for his return!

Thanks all, hopefully no one minds me posting this here. I am desperately praying for his return, my poor little man. And my friend hasn't been to work all week, she's been combing the woods in MS with others for 12 hours a day. Unfortunately, she just moved there 2 months ago, and still barely knows her way around the area.

Memphis is found and is back home

Okay, I just got off the phone, and I now have the full story.

Memphis has been picked up by my friend, and is now finally safe at home! She got more details once she got to the lady's house to pick him up. Memphis was SPOTTED on the highway by the lady this morning when she was driving somewhere. He was not picked up there. She spotted him there. When she got back home, she found Memphis sitting on her front porch playing with her dog that was outside tied up. She said her house was about 2 miles from where she spotted him though, so he had traveled a ways.

Memphis is otherwise fine, no broken bones, but he does have two very large gashes across his face. The vet stitched him up and sent him home on some antibiotics. He's in great, happy spirits she said though!
