Neville, a rescued pit bull that I was involved with planning a transport for may become a hero soon. Long story below...

As you all know, Ontario recently banned pit bulls. This has put a tremendous load on bully friendly shelters and breed rescues to get their dogs adopted quick with a capital Q. Neville was a rednose boy in this very position...waiting for a home, coming up on his deadline to be PTS. A woman in Tacoma, WA agreed to foster him, so we began working on a transport to get him all the way across the country. Driving him across just wasn't coming together quickly enough, so a very generous woman offered to pay for his flight over to Tacoma, dubbed his "freedom flight." Upon arrival, his foster mom knew he was something special. Soon after, Diane Jessup made an announcement that she was helping the Washington State Patrol (WSP) search for new drug and bomb detection dogs. We thought Neville might fit the bill, so we arranged for her to meet him, and she thought he seemed perfect! Next, the WSP evaluated him, and he passed with flying colors! He begins training to become a detection dog next week! Now, he still needs to get through the training, which many dogs fail to do, but we're cautiously optimistic that this death row boy turned hero is going to do us proud!

He story recently made the local news, who surprisingly enough, did a pretty positive story on him! So not only will he be a hero, he's also famous!

Thats awesome! Its to bad that this breed doesn't get noticed more for all the positive things they can do.
