A pit bull bit into the tires of a police car, flattening all four in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Sunday.
Sheriff’s Deputy Lynn Lavallis was responding to a call from Gloria Bass about a strange dog chasing her daughter’s bicycle, trying to bite her back tire.
When Deputy Lavallis showed up, both the girl and the dog were gone, so she parked her cruiser in Bass' driveway and went to talk to Bass.
While she inside, Bass’ pet pit bull chomped each of the cruiser’s tires, deflating all four.
A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said, “The dog didn't try to attack the deputy. He just doesn't like tires.”
Animal services and a crime scene investigator responded, as did a fleet mechanic for the car, but Bass was not charged with anything because her dog was on her own property and no actual human was bitten.
She will be billed $504.60 for the new tires, though.
