Not animal rights, it more what others said - this is a wild fucking predatory animal, what do you think would happen when you treat it like a damn trained performing poodle? Kind of like someone would say it was a shame for an APBT to be put down for killing a dog. That lion was just doing what comes naturally, killing a smaller weaker "animal" coming into its territory - maybe they should have left it in the wild or left owning one to a highly trained professional.
