Please crosspost far and wide, especially to shelters in the
    Northeast US.

Fulton County Animal Services, managed by the Southern Hope Humane Society, is the animal control for the city of Atlanta, Fulton County and 8 other cities. As many of you know, we have a horrific pet overpopulation problem here and our animal control shelter is overflowing with extremely highly adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens (about 30 litters in the shelter as of right now) with few adopters. We try to hold on to our pets for as long as possible, but we simply have too many animals coming in and not very many going out to adopters or rescue groups (because they are all full, even though we call and beg them).

For instance, we took in 58 animals today and adopted 0. Pretty dismal, since we bust our butts to try to get them adopted - we are open 7 days a week and two evenings, we have cats at two 7 day petsmart centers, we have an offsite adoption center, we go to at least two or three offsite adoption events every
weekend and more, yet the market is so saturated here that almost no one adopts and our great animals end up being euthanized due to space.

Anyway, the only hope for our great pets is for us to
transfer them to no kill shelters in areas where they are in demand.

    What we will do?

We will drive dogs, cats, puppies or kittens from our FCAS shelter
to no-kill shelters within an 18 hour drive of Atlanta. All of the
pets we will transport will have had all their vaccinations, rabies
shot, a fecal exam, deworm, heartworm/combo test, a health exam and
a certificate to transport. We will pay for all of the veterinary
work, we will pay for the gas in the bus, we will pay 2 employees
overtime to drive them up there and we will pay for hotel rooms for
our employees. Because we want to save their lives!

    What will you do?

You will receive our fantastic animals free of charge into your no-
kill shelter or established rescue group (with veterinary and animal control references) and you will spay/neuter them and find them great homes.

If you would be interested in receiving our pets (a minumum of 10), please email us asap at:

info@fultonanimalservices.com [info@fultonanimalservices.com] and let us know. Pictures of many of our pets are on our website at

    www.fultonanimalservices.com/adoptionfcas.htm

However, keep in mind we have about 150 more puppies and kittens that are not pictured online because they are still too young for adoption.

PLEASE HELP US SAVE THEIR LIVES!

Thanks on behalf of the animals,
    Susan Feingold, Executive Director
